Overview
Set in Costa Rica’s Central Volcanic Valley, El Silencio Lodge & Spa Costa Rica features 500 acres of private tropical forest reserve. It offers a spa and stylish Suites with stunning mountain views. Set on a mountainside, the accommodations offer views of the mountains, the river and the forest. There is a seating area and a private bathroom with a hot tub. Los Ventanales Restaurant serves local dishes with fresh ingredients. The property has a private vegetable garden which supplies most of the organic herbs and vegetables. The Esencia spa offers relaxing massages, facials and body wraps. There is also a spacious yoga deck. The area is ideal for hiking, yoga and meditation. This eco-luxury hotel is close to Juan Castro Blanco National Park and the Poas Volcano National Park. Juan Santamaría International Airport is 1-hour drive from El Silencio Lodge.

“On a whole it was a lovely experience but feel our stay was slightly tainted by small things.”
Dinners were amazing, food was really good quality and delicious flavours. The rooms were beautiful and hot tubs were such a romantic plus. The facilities were great too such as the gym, nature walks with waterfalls, room private hot tubs, yoga classes and spa. I had a fabulous deep tissue massage.

“Stunning!”
The staff were amazing and remembered who we were and always very friendly and hospitable. Very knowledgeable in both the history of the hotel, the food and the wine menu. The organic farm was fabulous and lovely to eat the eggs from the farm each day. The location was out of this world. Beautifully laid out. The grounds were gorgeous and very well maintained, even the woodland walks were very well cared for. Many activities to join in. Many woodland walks and the waterfalls are a must. Loved the horse riding. We did have an issue with the hot tub not warming but maintenance soon sorted this.

“Excellent!”
Truly excellent. We stayed in the 2 bedroom villa and it was perfect. The hikes were beautiful, as was the lodge. Food was great too. It was an incredible stay!

Fantastic location and accommodation in 2 bed villa. Staff were available and attentive. Loved the guided mystical tour and the impromptu guided bird watching walk.

“A Magical Escape into Nature with Heartfelt Hospitality”
From the breathtaking location to the beautifully designed rooms and the warm attention of the staff, everything at El Silencio was exceptional. The lodge offers a perfect blend of luxury and nature. A special thank you to Estafny and Esperanza for their outstanding care and genuine kindness—they truly elevated my stay. Given that the lodge is nestled in the heart of the jungle, be prepared to encounter a few bugs and spiders here and there. That said, I didn’t get bitten once, and it never felt like a problem.

“Pleasant stay”
Tucked in the middle of the jungle, this property is charming. The cocktails were incredible and dinners delicious, which was a welcome change from the usual food you get in CR. The gym is not large but had nice equipment which was perfect for a workout when it was raining.

“The Best Silencio ever.”
