“Beautiful and super clean house in a quiet old part of the city, THE place to stay at in Tongeren!”

Beautiful and super clean house in the old part of the city with cobblestone roads close to the old city wall. While the city centre and also the Antiekmarkt can be easily reached by foot in just a few minutes, the area is quiet with birds chirping and a nature reserve just a few hundred meters away. The house is nicely decorated and has everything and more than you can wish for to have a pleasant stay. If you are there you don't want to leave, so just plan for a longer stay as Tongeren and the area around has to offer so much more than just the antique market. After having spent a long day in the city and around, sitting on the nice balcony and enjoying the atmosphere was just invaluable. This is really the place you want to stay at!

Le Petit Béguinage is a beautiful sanctuary in the wonderful, historic setting of the Begijnhof. Beautiful views of the Sint-Ursulakapelle from the pretty balcony. Thank you Steve and Sophie for creating and sharing this luxurious home-from-home: you’ve thought of everything. It’s a wonderful base from which to explore your historic city. We particularly appreciated the personal handover, directions and suggestions. The local books were fascinating.

“Perfect beautiful town and accomodation”

Tongeren is the most beautiful historical town, we loved and visited all of the roman history and museums and this accomodation was perfectly placed for that. The heritage of this part of town is gorgeous with walking paths and gardens, canals and roman walls. The accomodation is 3 levels on the ground floor a lovely entry to hang coats/shoes etc and a beautiful dining area over the cobblestone pathway, the kitchen is generously stocked with loads of coffee and everything you need just like you would have at home and unlike many holiday rentals. Also on the ground floor is a toilet room and large perfectly equipped laundry which we appreciated and even a separate freezer, The accomodation is modern but retains all of the charm that matches the town, the neighbourhood is very old some home displaying dates of medieval origin. The next level is the lounge area, tv and balcony and large gorgeous resort style bathroom with amazing bath and big open windows to the fresh air and the bird life. The balcony at the front of the townhouse overlooks the trees , old properties and you can people watch as you enjoy a coffee, we loved this every day. The top level is the 2 bedrooms the steps are old style, the depth of the steps is probably not enough for most feet so take care. Lovely upstairs again the loft style windows , fans available for cooling. The hosts were very generous thank you to them for making our stay special, wifi excellent. Good lighting throughout. Very quiet location. Dont miss the sunday antique fair look it up its amazing.

The house is nicely renovated and set in a beautiful old part of Tongeren, a cith that's full of surprises for both young and old. Steve met with us in front of the house and showed us around the house which was beautifully renovated with all the supplies we may need during the stay : smart tv with netflix on, kitcheware, cleaning supplies, lots of coffees, everything you could possibly imagine :). We really had a wonderful stay and this house felt like home away from home and can't wait to be back at 'Le petit béguinage'. Thanks Steve & Sophie for everything!

“Stunning eye for detail by the hosts! Perfect for a romantic get-away”

This place not that far from home was really a wonderful discovery. It had everything to make our short get-away a perfect escape from daily routine. The hosts have done everything and more to make guests feel welcome: the kitchen is perfectly equipped for cooking (with even a selection of salt, pepper, water, tea, coffee available), the decoration all over the house is tasteful and there is a lot of eye for detail to make it very cozy. So we did not have to leave the house at all for eating out and were able to enjoy the house to the fullest. The location is excellent: quiet in the traffic-low streets of the Beguinage and yet close to a public parking (free!) and the town's center. A true gem!

Only superlatives for this wonderful place. Friendly owners, warm welcome! House was very cosy and comfortable, with an eye for small details. Nothing negative whatsoever. If you want to spend a couple of days in Tongeren, this is the place you want to stay :-)
