It's not in a super turistic àrea. They are super nice. Lots of options for eating nearby, very close to the tram and a 7eleven. Very clean, like always in Japan

It is such a cosy little cute place hidden in a quiet district. After a long day of sightseeing it was such a relief every day to come back to this quiet place, it was like coming back home. Owners are the kindest people with neighbors selling the best food next door. If I ever come back to Tokyo I would definitely stay here again.

“Eight-bed dorm (in reality nine) in a very cramped space.”

I stayed at Sato San’s Rest on December 8, 2025. The host was initially polite, but the actual experience in the room was very different from what one might expect. The room accommodated nine beds in a limited space, where in my opinion a maximum of eight would be more appropriate. My bed was so close to the others that I would have ended up sleeping with someone’s feet next to my head, or my feet next to someone else’s head, with virtually no personal space or privacy. The air conditioner was blowing warm air. Although the host adjusted the temperature, the temperature in the room remained excessive and was made worse by an odor caused by too many people concentrated in such a confined space. Although the description mentions an eight-bed dorm, the online photos do not reflect the real layout. In the pictures, the room appears more spacious with only eight beds, while in reality one more bed are installed, placed at the ends of the room, making the space feel even more cramped. It was in this bed that I was supposed to sleep. The common areas are pleasant and the host appears kind, but no concrete solution was offered. I left the property immediately after check-in, without using the bed or any facilities, yet I was still charged the full amount for two nights. I would not recommend this place to anyone who values comfort, even minimal personal space, or proper ventilation. For the same price, there are clearly better alternatives.

I loved the familiar atmosphere and the kindness of the hosts. Also Arkawa area is lovely.

The host Yuta-san is very friendly and kind. I never felt like I'm staying in a hostel. they made me feel at home and comfortable. always helping me out with everything. The location is also amazing. less than 10 mins walking distance from Minowa station metro. and less than 5 mins from multiple bus stops. The stay was very comfortable and beds were also nice. complete space was 100% clean and it was no doubt 10/10 experience.

Facilities are well-maintained and clean. Bed is comfortable while the hostel is located in a local market street. Lots of interesting shops and restaurants which is worth to visit.

Sato-San’s was the perfect place to rest while exploring Tokyo. The hostel was located in a slightly quieter part of town which felt a relief from the centre. The hostel was kept spotlessly clean and it was a pleasure to meet Yuta and the family - they were so kind and welcoming.

I really enjoy staying in santo's home. Yuta and Nana have great personality as a host. The location is perfect for me to explore more me-unknown tokyo. Definately book for next tokyo vacation

Nana-san and Yuta-san were incredibly kind and friendly. They gave me a warm welcome and made me feel right at home. The location was very convenient, with plenty of restaurants, a convenience store, and a laundromat nearby. It was my first time staying in a hostel, and I'm so glad I chose Sato-san’s.

Absolutely incredible! Host family was super nice and went above and beyond to make the stay as comfortable as possible. Bed was really comfy, everything was clean and there was a little communal kitchen and relaxing space as well. I'm definitely coming back one day!

The hosts were super nice, check in and out was easy, common areas were cozy, and the tatami room was big and comfortable with really high ceilings. They gave us tips to eat around the area which was really helpful. I also liked that we take off shoes at the entrance so we can walk barefoot around, feels like a home.
