Todtmoos is a charming village with limited accommodation options, and everything else was fully booked during our visit. At first, we were unsure about this hotel based on the photos we saw and didn’t expect much, but we still wanted to experience the village. It’s true that the centuries-old building could use some work on the outside, but the interior has been renovated (something not reflected in the pictures). Our room had been recently remodeled, was very comfortable, and featured a modern bathroom with a great shower.

it's an old house so the ceilings are low... tall people might struggle in the shower for example

,After a strange welcome at a late check in (16.30), we almost went out to eat somewhere else. But we were tired and of our group spoke Italian and got talking to Mama, the chef. We ended up eating there and it was exceptional. The antipasto platter to die for and pizzas lovely. Next morning the Papa of the house (no German) kindly drove us about 6km back to get to our hiking trail. Saved us 6km bitumen uphill.
