“Once in a lifetime”

The manager Dimu was so kind, he was always making sure we had everything we needed. He showed us around areas with wild crocodile and water buffalo and showed us the town. He’s really nice and the food he brought us was so delicious. The man looking after the property was really nice too.

“An awesome place to stay at Yala!”

This hostel was everything we wanted it to be! Right on the edge of Yala National Park, surrounded by wild nature... The nice man running the place took us for an evening walk and also a morning walk, showing us a pond with crocodiles and the beach, while keeping us safe from the wild elephants. Yes, there was a small snake in our room, but that is to be expected and VERY COOL. We were pleasantly surprised by the food in the restaurant- other reviews say it is overpriced and not good, but that is simply untrue. Here we had one of the best dishes of rice and curry in all of Sri Lanka! Seriously, with seafood and everything, it was amazing!

Seneka uncle was the highlight there. It's a beautiful place but needs so much of renovation and food facility. Cux it's far away from the city and markets. I had a memorable time because of uncle Seneka, he's phenomenal, friendly, great host, very wise man I learned so much from. If I go back there, ill go back for him mainly. This place is so lucky that they have someone like him.

“Very nice place with a very good staff”

It’s very nice and peaceful. Everything is very clean and they serve very nice food. You can see a lot of wildlife in the area of the hostel. They have a pool table!

Superb location nice open spaces and the pool is super fun for down time. The caretaker was very sweet can’t remember his name but the old man with white long beard.

“Beautiful wildlife encounters right at your doorstep”

We really enjoyed our stay at Yala Yin Yang Hostel. The place is in very close proximity to the national park so you might be able to spot wildlife right from the terrace or window. Dimuthu, the owner, as well as Seneca, the manager, are incredibly friendly and helpful. Seneca took us for a walk on our first day and showed us a crocodile pond and a nice beach close by. They also helped us organize a really good full day jeep tour through the Nationalpark. The next town is Kirinda which is 10 minutes away by motorbike or scooter. Take your time and enjoy the ride - we spotted monkeys, crocodiles, eagles, water buffaloes and wild elephants close to the road! We booked the 3-bedroom option for three nights, which was clean but simple and had an en-suite bathroom. The design of the building is very open, so be ready to have nature (lizards, insects) being in a room with you from time to time. We did not mind at all but it’s definitely not for everyone. We highly recommend this place for people who want to connect with nature and appreciate the simplicity of this place. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful place in heaven. Beautiful people and animals. This place is wild and so peaceful. We obviously stayed longer than what we had planned. We just came to do the safari (which we didn't enjoy so much) but the Yala Yang Hostel is the reason why we stayed longer. Would love to come back, I truly recommend it !

Loved the camp feel with open dormitory. Seneka was just so lovely and took great care of me because I was carrying an injury. He also took me to the sand dunes and pointed out turtles and their tracks up the beach to lay eggs.

Sir working there is fantastic. Very calm, nice, helps with everything, loves and knows a lot about the nature. They organized safari for me and helped me to reach my next destination (Ella). The place is really authentic and sleeping there is an experience by itself.

The location was near to Yala National park and felt right at nature.

It is a very quiet, free and beautiful place located near the beach. The rooms are good and clean. Hotel employees are very friendly.

We really loved to be out in the nature so close the Yala nature park. A short walk away you arrive at your own 'private' beach. Harsha was such a nice and wise man, he got to help us plan the rest of the trip and was an amazing cook. If you want to got Yala national park by tour it's only 10 minutes away. So you don't have to get up so early in the morning to see the magnificent wildlife.

“Wild experience + excellent safari”

The full-day safari was excellent, the guide was very professional and we saw a lot of animals! Also, the staff was super friendly, food delicious and we loved the nearby remote beach! The hostel area is beautiful and full of wildlife. We got to stay in the triple room (green one) with double room's charge, since the double room details were missing from booking.com. This was fairly done for us!

Amazing! The place is clean and pretty comfortable. The owner is super helpful. The sky is unbelievable at night and the place is ony a 5 min walk to a really nice beach and sand dunes. We had an amazing night at the hostel.

“Great time in ying yang!”

The staff was super kind and helpful, always looking for best prices and make our experience as complete and comfortable as possible. The location was superb, close to the national park, close to the town and still isolated in the forest. The food was also great and tasty. The pool table made our evenings better! The beds were comfortable and clean

“Wonderful place to get away from everything”

Great place to escape everything and just be outdoors. Very close to Safari Parc. And incredibly nice people.

Owner is fantastic, and would highly recconend going to see the sand dunes in the nearby beach (which is completely empty- no tourists at all). Loved our stay 🙌
