We stayed here mainly because we wanted to visit Yala National Park, and it turned out to be a great choice. The house is very well maintained, clean and feels quite new. The owner, his wife and their children were extremely kind and welcoming. They really made an effort to make our stay pleasant – they spent time with us in the evening, offered and prepared delicious meals and were always happy to help. If we wanted an additional meal, they gladly arranged it for us, and they also organized a safari to the national park. The room was very spacious, very clean and comfortable. The owner was attentive and always responded to all our requests. I highly recommend this place to anyone planning to visit Yala National Park. It is a wonderful and very welcoming place to stay.

The best place we have stayed in Sri Lanka! Iresha, Uchith and their children were so welcoming, and really made an effort to get to know us and give us information about the local area and Sri Lanka. The curry they made us for dinner was so tasty and the safari was brilliant. The room was big with a massive comfy bed and a huge new and clean bathroom. They also have the cutest two dogs who are so playful and happy. Overall highly recommend to stay here for anyone coming to this area.

The hosts were very warm and welcoming, and they greeted us with complimentary drinks. Our room was spotless, and the garden ambiance was lovely. Both breakfast and dinner beautifully represented Sri Lankan culture—easily the best we had during our trip. The lady of the house explained their culture while serving a variety of homemade dishes at dinner. We also went on safari through their arrangements, and they even surprised us with a cultural gift. We were truly impressed by their kindness and generosity as hosts.

We really enjoyed staying with Uchith and his family! They are really friendly and helpful. The room is clean and comfortable, with AC and a fan. The bed is huge too! There is a nice hammock and chair outside, though we didn't use it much. We did two full-day safaris at Yala, and got to see a lot of beautiful wildlife!

“Best homestay in Tissa!”

Very welcoming family. Uchith, his wife, 2 kids and even their 2 dogs (Blacky and Lucky) were extremely friendly. They treated us like one of their own. It’s in the outskirts of town, which is private and quiet; yet only a short tuk tuk ride into town. The room is spacious with comfortable amenities. We had dinner at their home one night - cooked expertly by Uchith’s wife. Uchith sat with us and had a deep and meaningful conversation about their culture, way of life, history and the state of current affairs in Sri Lanka. He is extremely knowledgeable. He works very hard to please his guests. The breakfast was also amazing. They gave us a breakfast pack for the morning that we were doing the safari and a traditional Sri Lankan breakfast of hoppers, coconut rolls and vada the next morning. All the ingredients were from their own garden (coconut, banana, jackfruit etc). We even had Buffalo Milk Curd for dessert (a specialty). Uchith gave us a parting individualised souvenir as well. This was out best homesta in Sri Lanka by far! Would highly recommend Uchith’s place to prospective guests. Thank you for a wonderful homely stay.

This was honestly the best stay we’ve had in Sri Lanka. The owner and his family really made sure we had the best time. It felt like we were family. The rooms are spacious, clean and has AC. We had dinner twice and it was so so good. Also, the safari we booked with them was everything we hoped for. They really listened to our wishes. Again, we cannot recomment this place enough! We will definitly come back here.

“Amazing place to stay!”

Stayed for 1 night and they arranged a safari for the next day. When we arrived the room was ready for us. They asked if we wanted food for dinner which we did and it was amazing. All the dishes were delicious. Iresha and Uchith made us feel at home and even talked with us for a while telling us stories about Sri Lanka and the local area. We really enjoyed our stay here and will be back when we come to Sri Lanka again!

We chose the place because it was close to the entrance to Yala National Park. The accommodation met all our expectations. Great value for money. We arrived in the evening and were leaving early. The accommodation is in a quiet area.

The most welcoming house owner that I've met ever! I was given with wonderful excursion around Tissamaharama and its nature and culture landmarks. House holder also booked the Yala safari tour for a greate price. The room has everything you need (fan and air conditioner both). Also Leisure Villa provide extra services like laundry and etc. I have only warm memories left, thank you! 100/10

The property was very good. The surrounding area was also good. The people there were very nice. There was a very good arrangement. It was smooth. All the facilities were provided as per five star. The people were very nice, there was every kind of arrangement. I am sorry that such a property is so close and they dropped us at the station. They were so nice and had a very good environment. An ideal place to escape the hustle and bustle of larger cities and set off on a safari in Yala Park. The hosts are a wonderful couple who made me feel happy and safe. They organized a fantastic safari in Yala, where I saw many elephants, crocodiles, buffaloes, jackals, monkeys, as well as lizards and birds. Additionally, I enjoyed the best Rice & Curry and Sri Lankan Curd I had in all of Sri Lanka. They also have two lovely sons who taught me how to play cricket, and two adorable dogs I played with for hours. Facts: *very clean *hot water in the shower *quiet and peaceful *calming sounds of the jungle behind the house *a relaxation area outside the room with a hammock, tables, and comfortable chairs *the best food in Sri Lanka *the perfect base for trips to Yala Safari A safe place for solo female travelers as well as families with children. I will definitely return for a longer stay.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with a smile and such an inviting and comfortable energy. Uchith and his wife go above and beyond for their guests, making them feel like they are at home, which is nice for long-term travellers. - The room was clean, very spacious with a large bed, nice sheets and a mosquito net. The hot water was also a real plus as well as the AC. - Outside Communal area was very tranquil- surrounded by trees and different forms of seating, which we loved - Highly recommend having dinner and breakfast with them, the food is delicious and a real taste of Sri Lanka! We also learnt so much about the cuisine from the hosts. - The hosts themselves were so lovely and were happy to have a conversation with you, which we loved. Their attention to detail is truly appreciated, even something like a welcome drink on arrival after a sweaty journey. Communication via whatsapp was prompt! - Added bonus they have 2 of the most gorgeous dogs who we enjoyed spending some time with whilst we were relaxing Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a tranquil escape at a reasonable price, was truly one of our favourite stays during our month in Sri Lanka.
