The room is well designed, with 2 balcony/entrance. There are 2 sundecks area facing the sea which is very nice and relaxing. Check in/out process is smooth with the luggage arranged to be sent to the room direct to/fro the jetty. The staff is super friendly and make you feel at home. Food are buffett style with no ala carte option with various choices and different theme every day with seafood bbq served every night. Activity at the resort are plenty such as snorkelling, hiking & diving. There are also fire performance & fireworks at night which is mesmerising.

Staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Ocean and reef were excellent. Rooms clean.

If you are looking for absolute peace and tranquility, this is the perfect place. Tunamaya is a beautiful, secluded resort—definitely not for anyone looking for hustle and bustle! ​We absolutely loved our stay. The sea was right on our doorstep, and the room was very clean. The staff were wonderful and friendly throughout our stay. It’s a fantastic location for nature lovers; we loved going for walks in the surrounding forest and snorkeling right off the beach. We even discovered some real gem snorkeling spots. Highly recommend for a quiet, relaxing getaway!"

“Relaxing 3 nights”

Staff: Staff were all friendly and welcoming! We were warmly welcomed at Genting jetty and ushered to a waiting speedboat. When we arrived at Tunamaya we were greeted with flower garlands. It was fun and reminded me of the old TV show Fantasy Island. Staff came up to chat with us at meal times and made sure we had everything we needed. Great value: The full board package was great value. While there may not be a great selection at every meal, there was sufficient variety to keep us happy and the quality was much better than we expected after reading all the negative reviews about the food. Seafood was fresh. Lamb was admittedly tough but the beef was tender. Special shout-out to the calamari rings which were sweet and juicy and the carbonara pasta finished inside a wheel of hard cheese... so good even our friend who usually avoids carbs gave it a solid thumbs up. Oh .. the free flow of pretty decent beer and wine was nice too! Activities we took advantage of included in the full board package were archery, kayaking, guided jungle trek to a lookout point 890m high behind the resort and snorkelling at the house reefs. Sadly there are many dead corals, but there are a few spots with healthy corals in the house reefs which were in fact slightly better than the 2 snorkelling spots we paid to go to with their partner boat tour operator. Beautiful setting: It has a long sea frontage and is framed by the dramatic near vertical twin slopes of Dragon's Horns, Gunung Nenek Semukut. Garden landscaping was pretty good too with lots of flowering pants.

Vibe and calmness

The location is amazing. You can just come out of room and do snorkling. Beach is just amazing. We had good experience living there. This resort is very nice and thats the only resort you will find there. No other place or resort is near by. 30 mins boat to Genting village.

The room was decent and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. The sea was clean and clear...there are big trees at seaside, we can enjoy the sea without worrying about the UV. The land area of the hotel is huge so won't feel crowded even though there are many guests. It was a quiet place to chill and relax.

The exceptional staff, all so friendly!!! Esp. To mention Arash (sry if I write it wrong), head of restaurant. Who helped me a lot with my gluten free diet, the calm atmosphere, the snorkelling opportunity right at the jetty, amazibg pkace to relax.

We stayed for 5 nights, which meant we really had time to experience Tunamaya. We absolutely loved the location and the beautiful nature. You could see the mountain peaks in the background while being surrounded by blue seas. We saw so many exotic animals, like big lizards, baby sharks, and many exciting fish. We booked a beach villa, which was super clean and lovely. We also enjoyed that there were many different places for swimming and relaxing (I even found a favourite spot just outside our villa on a wooden patio). Before we arrived, we read some comments from people saying things were a bit “run down.” We did not think this was accurate. To give some context, we visited many other villages on the island (and also stayed in another accommodation), and Tunamaya has a great standard for the island. We also read some negative comments about the food and service in the restaurant. After these 5 days, we realised that yes, the food is quite basic and the service can be a bit slow or messy at times — but the staff were so friendly and smiling, and it became clear that they were really trying their best. Most of them were young, and for us this became part of the charm. An extra shoutout to Irfan, who greeted us with the biggest smile every day and made our stay extra special. To summarise: we loved being here for 5 days. It was calming, beautiful, and filled with lovely people. The food was okay — I wouldn’t book Tunamaya for an extraordinary food experience, but it was definitely tasty enough. We would love to come back one day!
