Overview
Located in Tiffauges, between Nantes and the Puy du Fou sits the beautiful 19th-century residence Le Manoir de la Barbacane. Situated in a lovely verdant setting, this residence offers the charm of yesterday with the comfort of today. It is composed of guestrooms and suites uniquely furnished and warmly decorated. 3 suites open out onto the winter garden and feature a lounge area and a separate bedroom. All rooms offer free Wi-Fi internet access. In addition to the beautiful outdoor surroundings and swimming pool, La Barbacane has a charming indoor lounge area equipped with a bar, billiards table and a library. The location of the residence allows guests to discover the Gilles de Rais castle and the Refuge de Graslas. Puy du Fou Attraction Park is a 23-minute drive away and guests can enjoy a number of activities such as hunting, fishing, golf and the beaches not far from the hotel.

“Convenient for our journey.”
There was nowhere else in village to get some breakfast, we had the Hotel breakfast which was good and a reasonable price. Liked access to terrace from Room, and nice that swimming pool was still open.

Friendly welcome. Lovely pool. Beautiful entrance lobby and staircase. Comfortable beds. Pleasant village to walk around in the evening. Lovely restaurant opposite - good food and friendly welcome.

“Stunning stay ! Hotel chosen for proximity to Puy du Fou but lovely to stay longer.”
Warm welcome. Nice ambience to the property . Quirky features including lovely long window on sweeping staircase . Large room for three with partial views over countryside. Wholesome breakfast with plenty of choice- various teas, strong coffee, fresh croissants, pain au chocolate, fruit , yoghurt … Lovely views of surrounding Vendee landscape, prominent adjacent church , Tiffauge castle as well as well sited swimming pool and gardens. Local creperie excellent with cheerful service , freshest pizza and amazing salad Restaurant on village square great for a special meal - superb seafood.

“Perfect x”
We stumbled across this beautiful hotel, quite by chance on a road trip from Jersey…and fell in love🥰everything is just perfect, the location, right near a fab castle for the kids, a beautiful room and exceptional garden and pool area. So very relaxing and the hotel owners were just lovely! Fab creperie/pizza round the corner and the very best burger directly opposite! Will absolutely be back xxxx

Loved the charm of the d building, plus location. Breakfast was very good, staff so helpful. The pool and gardens a delight to relax in. Very near the castle which was exciting to explore. Good restaurant opposite. We were made to feel very much at home for our stay.
