“Amazing”
The hosts are so welcoming and make you feel at home. The dinner was amazing and the talks afterwards were so much fun. The accomodation itself is quite basic, but the location, onsen, food, hosts and peacefulness are perfect.

“Too strict and money oriented”
If you're a person with ascetic lifestyle, you might find this host nice. It is prohibited to do anything in the room but sleeping . And you have to make a futon bed by yourself.

The hosts where amazing, taking me up to lake Machū for a tour and showing me all kinds of things. Both dinner and breakfast were awesome, the hidden bar/restaurant really made it feel special.

“Very friendly host”
The owners are super friendly and we had nice chats during and after dinner. Room is simple yet clean. The location is a good mid-point for the various tourist attractions nearby. Dinner is surprisingly good for the price that we paid. My kids enjoyed the stay a lot.

“Warm hospitality, warm comfortable room, an authentic experience in an area of stunning natural beauty.”
Fantastic local hospitality and local knowledge of the area. Taka-San and Aki-San were so generous with their time. They prepared delicious meals and gave us an incredible sightseeing experience (for a very reasonable additional fee) of this stunning area. We highly recommend visiting Kawayu Onsen and staying here for an authentic experience. We enjoyed socialising over communal meals and tea. I also liked the local hot onsen (just down the road) and Aki-San drove us there and back in the snow. It was a highlight of our trip to stay with Taka-San and Aki-San and be shown this incredible landscape.

“The best part of my trip.”
The experience I had staying in this hotel was nothing sort of amazing. The host couple are extremely friendly. Being Japanese, they learn foreign languages to understand visitors and be understood. They made fantastic food which will satisfy all the travellers especially hikers from the surrounding mountains. The tea party after the dinner is also a great highlight because it enables the travellers to get to know each other. The location of the hostel is unbelievable. It takes you 20-30 minutes to visit all the surrounding natural landscape. I highly recommend stargazing and seeing sunrise at Lake Machu. The lack of reviews for this hotel is a mystery to me. It deserves much more!
