Overview
Senjuso offers simple Japanese-style accommodations with a flat-screen TV. Tateyama Train/Cable Car Station is a 1-minute walk away and guests can enjoy climbing the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. Japanese lunch boxes can be requested for lunch. All rooms comes with air-conditioning and feature tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding. Each comes with an electric kettle with a green tea set. Towels and toothbrushes are also provided. Bathrooms and toilets are shared. A Japanese set-menu is served for breakfast and dinner. A shared fridge and drink vending machines are available on-site. Luggage storage is provided at the front desk. Senjuso Inn is a 5-minute drive from Tateyama Ski Resort which is just in front of the Tateyama station, and a 7-minute drive from Tateyama Museum, and a 15-minute drive from Shomyo Fall. Tateyama Caldera Sabo Museum is a 1-minute walk away. Tateyama Train/Cable Car Station is a 1-minute walk away and guests can enjoy hiking on the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route.

“Great hotel location next to Tateyama station”
Superb location to the Tateyama station/start of the cable car for the Alpine route. Dinner and breakfast is very good - “home-cooked” and more than sufficient. Quality is very good. Rooms are basic but clean - shared toilet is extremely clean and well maintained.

“Great place to stay right at start of Alpine Route”
We stayed here overnight before an early start on the Alpine Route. The staff are exceptional - professional, friendly, welcoming and helpful. They prepared a vegetarian dinner and breakfast or us (we requested this in advance). The bath is lovely, the water really soothed my skin. The bedroom was traditional Japanese style.

the location of the hotel is very convenient to the tateyama cable station. the meals provided were adequate. the choices of food outside of the hotel were limited to 2 restaurants and a convenience store nearby. there was a cafe but which closed at 3pm due to low season in November 2025.

“Lovely hosts”
Great location next to the cable car up the mountain. The hosts were lovely, even though we arrived very early, we were able to leave our luggage. They offered suggestions for activities and umbrella's, as it was a rainy day. Onsen was small but lovely.

“Little gem of ryokan and perfect base for Kurobe Alpine Route”
Pretty little gem perfectly located right a few steps away from Tateyama train station and cable car station - therefore the best spot to spend the night before or after doing the Kurobe Alpine Route. Very comfortable futons, nice rooms, delicious japanese dinner and breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff.

“Lovely hotel by the train station”
Located just by the train stations. Perfect location for starting or finishing the main part of the Alpine Route. The room was nice. We enjoyed very much dinner and breakfast. Lovely small hotel!

“We enjoyed our stay. Resort cut off and nothing to do if the weather is bad. Our weather was amazing so it was great.”
Very close to the station. The staff were lovely and helpful. You have to eat at the property as there are no restaurants that stay open in the evening. (We we were there in November). This wasn’t an issue as the food was great. All traditional Japanese.

Very convenient location for us to stay overnight and visited the Alpine for two consecutive days! Served good dinner and breakfast too.
