“Outstanding accommodation overlooking Tangalle lagoon, only a few minutes from a world class beach.”

Friendly, genuine welcome by Sureka who allowed us to check in early. The family apartment is new, and extremely spacious- with a lounge and well equipped kitchen downstairs( with strong fan ) , breakfast bar, satellite TV and good sized sofa, and a lovely bathroom with excellent shower and unlimited hot water. The family apartment is a separate, standalone building on two floors with two enormous king-size beds upstairs and double doorways leading outside to a balcony( with chairs ) overlooking the lagoon area. WiFi is excellent and the little restaurant onsite serves good breakfasts, lunch and dinner. A tuk tuk into town is around 800 rupees but there are lovely restaurants locally and also on the beach. The photos do not do the apartment justice - it is exceptional value for money and a delight to stay in. Peacocks, monkeys, kingfishers, mongoose, beautiful birds and a lovely view- with help on hand from Sureka should you need it. In five weeks of travelling in Sri Lanka this has been the most outstanding accommodation and the Tangalle area our favourite so far. Highly recommended. Thank you.

Comfy clean room. Tranquil location- very close to a quiet beach, lots of birds and wildlife around the property. A lovely friendly host and delicious food in the onsite restaurant. Our host arranged scooter hire and a tuk tuk to Tangalle town for us.

“A piece of paradise.”

This is a piece of Paradise off the beaten track. The view of the lake is very special with lots of wildlife. 5 minute walk to a beautiful beach. Great food and rooms. I went for the larger room where I had my own balcony. Suaka cooked delicious food and really looked after me. I'll be back next year. This is a very special place.

Fantastic stay, best please we have stayed during our Sri Lanka trip. Room was large, very clean and had a large comfortable bed. Huge balcony with lovely views of the river. Peaceful location, great food and friendly lady who runs it.

We loved our stay at pearl cave cabanas! The host is lovely, the rooms are very big, clean and comfortable. You get a lot of towels and have your own balcony with a hammock. The view is stunning. Close to a very beautiful beach. I would always come back!

We had a great stay in Pearl Cave. Sureika, the manager, is very kind, hospitable, fun and helpful. The room on the upper floor is spacious, clean, has a beautiful view over the small pond from the private terrace. We really enjoyed listening to the birds at night, gazing at the stars and sleep with a window open (extra +: the beds are very comfortable. Excellent value for money! The restaurant serves food at the typical tourist prices you find on the Southern coast of Sri Lanka.

“Peaceful & idyllic”

What an idyllic spot… next to the lagoon with the roar of the ocean behind. Very quiet peaceful & relaxed ☺️ My room is spacious private clean & very comfy… everything you could want. I have been looked after incredibly well - delicious meals, ideas of where I should go & just lovely chat. Couldn’t recommend enough… sad to be leaving ❤️

“Best holiday ever! ❤️”

We stayed at Pearl Cave for eight nights and we totally fell in love with the hotell and the area around. It is a quiet place in nature with lots of animals and we spent many hours at our balcony watching the exotic birds in the lake and now and then a varan swimming by. The service is excellent and the local caretaker and cook is truly a gem. She is very kind and helpful and makes tasty food and makes sure that your stay runs smothly. All in all one of the best holiday experiences we ever had and we recommend Pearl Cave wholeheartedly to anyone! ❤️ Hilda & Maria ❤️

“Fantastic staff, home-cooked food and spacious rooms!”

The staff were incredibly friendly. The restaurant served very good local, home cooked food and was one of the best places we ate on our two week trip. Rooms were spacious, particularly the superior family room. The surrounding area (the lagoon) was very pretty in the day.

The host was exceptionally accommodating, even for a country like Sri Lanka where everyone is nice and helping. The whole premise and the room was very clean. We were able to rent a scooter, she also offered laundry service. Thanks a lot for this great experience!

“Perfect to relax, calm down and eat excellent”

We had the superior bedroom with two huge beds. It was great for us to relax and calm down. Distance to the Beach is about 5 to 10 minutes. 5 minutes to the direction of turtle Beach, 10 minutes to first Beach Bars. Very calm area, less people on the Beach. Sureka, the housekeeper at the hotel is a very beautiful Lady, cooking excellent and taking care of customers needs, preparing breakfast at arranged time and was very attentive in General. It was a pleasure to be at Pearl Cave.

We had booked really last minute, meaning 5 minutes before our arrival and the woman working there was directly taking care of us, made our room ready and gave us a very warm welcome. The room was amazing, really in the nature and calm and a walk of 5 minutes - if even - to the very beautiful beach. We ordered breakfast and it was adapted to our wishes. We had really a nice time there and felt very welcomed and cared about :)

Is the best place that I was in Sri Lanka. Very comfortable and beautiful

The accommodation was wonderful. My room had a comfortable bed, ac, and wifi. A very kind hearted woman is making the service there. From the second I arrived, I felt totally happy and welcome, thanks to her. In the morning she cooked a very delicious srilankan breakfast served with fresh fruits. I highly recommend to stay there if you plan to visit the area oh Tangalle.
