An exceptional experience. The staff are friendly and welcoming - it’s as if they are welcoming you into their home. The place is stunning and our family room was just perfect. The breakfast was incredible each morning and it felt like waking up in paradise. We really couldn’t have asked for more. The bonus is the monkeys - they’re there each morning and evening in the mango tree.

“Beautiful Beach B&B (Hope to Return)”

The property is beautiful and very well maintained. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful for anything we needed. It is also in a much quieter area than the main strip of Tamarindo, a huge plus for us. Our room was wonderful, spacious, and clean. The beach part of the property was beautifully landscaped and a nice, peaceful place to rest for any downtime. Breakfast was excellent and a good way to start a day of adventure off full of energy. They even packed us to go breakfasts on the days we needed to head out super early for excursions. Overall, a wonderful property.

“Nice smaller hotel close to the beach”

A very nice hotel about 2km far from the Tamarindo town centre, within its quiet part. Its location is really CLOSE to the beach. We stayed there 2 nights. We had a perfect breakfast there. We liked the hotel itself, its a bit "rustic" style. Everything as presented. Communication with Susana was perfect (dinning tips, advices, ...).

Our family LOVED the daily breakfast!! It was outstanding!! And the staff couldn't have been more accomodating with our special requests such as gluten free breakfasts for our daughter. Eduardo and Sol, were the most gracious, warm, and friendly hosts. They really made us feel relaxed and comfortable, making our stay most enjoyable!! Additionally, the place itself was a paradise, with an incredible view of the sea and most relaxing lounge chairs and beds to sunbathe or read in the shade. It was hard to leave the premises as we loved the property so much!! There were monkeys in the trees and iguanas all around, and the sunsets were spectacular, not to be missed!!

“A magical all around experience”

This B&B is an absolute Gem. The cozy rooms with outdoor shower to the private beach front that has front row experience of daily sunset to the best service and breakfast each day. It was all magical.

It’s right on the beach. The breakfasts were superb. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Honesty bar was a great idea and very handy for grabbing a cold drink. It is in a quiet location with Tamarindo close by (short Uber/taxi/golf cart ride, 20-30 minute walk).

A beautiful, relaxing, and very unique property that exceeded all expectations. The rooms were extremely comfortable and well-decorated, the facilities (pool, beach, hallways, landscaping) are all perfectly maintained, and the staff and hosts were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was GREAT! The location is also great— very private and luxurious but a quick walk to downtown Tamarindo for partying, shopping, and dining. Our room was the Misha, and it’s perfect for a girls’ trip or a family trip.

We had a pleasant stay at this beautiful and quiet place. Everybody was very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast and service was excellent and the owners are very kind people. They helped us with every request. We loved the location at the beach and the peaceful environment. There are only 7 rooms, so you feel like home.

The property is beautiful. The rooms are so relaxing and tranquil. The location can't be beat. Plenty of beachfront seats (chairs, loungers, beds) to take in the beautiful view from the shade. But, the staff really make the place what it is: Susan, Victor, Lilly, Donald, and Elena. Lilly prepares a delicious, filling, vegetarian breakfast every morning. We loved her scratch-made pancakes, fruit parfaits, gallo pinto (rice, beans, eggs, plantains), huevos rancheros, and crepes. Susan stayed after hours to help us check in after a long drive from Quepos, and stayed late again to let us know of a local event that would impact our route to the airport the next morning. Victor was so kind every morning, and Donald made us feel safe even in the pitch black darkness at night. Elena keeps everything beautiful and cleaned our room in the blink of an eye every morning. We really loved the vibe--from the honor bar (honor-based system of taking beverages from the fridge) to the other guests we met there. Even though Tamarindo itself may not be our cup of tea (reminded us too much of Florida), Sueño del Mar was a delight and we could have spent our entire visit there!

The property is managed like it would be someone’s home. The entire team there is just amazing, the attention to every little detail is fantastic. The room was very cosy, the garden is beautiful and quiet. We have never had better breakfast on our travels, omg, that was a highlight of the day. It is a place you do not want to leave and we prolonged our stay by one night.

Excellent breakfast. The staff was helpful, kind and very welcoming. The location was far enough away from the hussle of Tamarindo, while still accessible on foot. The rooms are charming, comfortable beds, with outdoor showers, hand-painted ceramic sinks. Beachfront with a lovely little garden.

we loved the setting of this hotel it’s right on the beach but a little out of town so you really feel like you’re in paradise. we loved the attention to detail in the rooms, it seems like they’ve thought of everything, beach towels and hammocks if you need one. honesty bar so you can help yourself, snorkels and fins to borrow if you want. and iguanas everywhere! and the staff are so attentive nothing is too much trouble for them. we are vegan and they catered to us without hesitation. would highly recommend this place it was one of our favourites from our Costa Rica road trip.

Sueño del Mar is a perfect quaint boutique B&B. We stayed in one of the bigger rooms and we loved every bit of our stay. The staff is very friendly and professional, rooms are clean and breakfast is delicious. Perfect location by a stunning beach. I didn’t want to leave.

One of a kind hotel in the town! Probably the coziest place we stayed at. Very clean, quiet and peaceful. This small hotel and the ocean view is the reason I would possibly visit Costa Rica again!

We travelled to Tamarindo for our honeymoon and stayed at Sueno del Mar. The location was great- you can walk along the beach into Tamarindo at low tide, or easily get an uber into the town at high tide. The room was spacious and had an outside area and an outdoor shower. The breakfasts in the morning were amazing, served in view of the roaring pacific. It was also an amazing place to sit down and watch the sunset, or to walk straight out and be on the beach.

We loved the location. it was exactly what we wanted away from the hustle of Tamarindo. The staff are amazing, sunsets incredible and breakfast needs to be experienced.
