“The best state in Mara”

visited Talek Bush Camp and honestly the experience was incredible from every aspect. I booked a riverside tent for two nights and it gave me a true wilderness feeling. Hearing hyenas at night and seeing hippos only around 50 meters from the tent made the safari experience feel completely real. The camp is surrounded by wildlife and beautiful bird sounds all day long. When I arrived, I wanted to do a self-drive safari with my own vehicle, but at the gate they told me my car was not allowed because it did not have a pop-up roof. Abdulrahman, the owner of the camp, personally came with me to the gate, spoke with them, and helped me get permission to enter the Mara Triangle with my vehicle. He also arranged for one of the Maasai staff members from the camp to join me for a full-day safari in Maasai Mara. Special thanks to Abdulrahman, Lazoro, Simon, and all the staff for the amazing hospitality. They truly helped me and made the stay unforgettable. And I’ll say it one last time — if you want a real wildlife and safari experience, this is the camp to stay at.

“The best camp in the Masai Mara”

Talek bush camp is a magical place. We loved everything about our stay there. All of the staff are very friendly, they want you to be comfortable and safe at all times. We stayed in a tent which was super comfortable and had everything we needed, better than most hotels we’ve stayed in! Here you can see many animals right in your doorstep, this is before you even enter the national party The food is amazing, freshly prepared and can cater to your needs if you have dietary requirements. We had a private game drive for the full day they packed us breakfast and lunch as must do when visiting this part of the country, the gate is 2 mins drive from the camp and located perfectly to get ahead of the morning rush for sunrise. Kinda hosted our game drive and was very knowledgable getting us to the right spots for our favourite animals. We were able to see the big 5 while staying in the Masai Mara. Top tip - sometimes the power can be intermittent so bring a charger power bank… handy for the game drives also.

I would highly recommend Talek Bush camp to any of my family and friends. We are a family of 5 and were initially cautious about booking such a big holiday independeptly without a tour operator. We were beyond fortunate to come across the highly regarded and recommended Talek Bush Camp. From the moment of our initial enquiry and correspondence with Abdul we could look forward to our trip without hesitation. He was personally available to answer queries in a very timely manner, and assured us he would organise all our game drives to suit our needs. On arrival we received the warmest of welcomes from the whole team who worked tirelessly to ensure a very comfortable and enjoyable stay for all. The camp itself is very well maintained and offers a most relaxed yet safe vibe. The food was delicious and offered a mix of local, Egyptian and European options. All our dietary requirements including coeliac were met. Each morning we took a fabulous homemade breakfast picnic on safarai . Our driver and guide were exceptional with excellent local knowledge of the park and of all the families of animals within it. The camp is located at the gate of the reserve so we arrived within minutes and well ahead of the early morning sunrise. Our accomadation was most pleaseant, we stayed in a luxury tent overlooking the river, and woke in the morning to the sound of Hippos splashing! Our sons had 2 bedrooms in a lodge.The beds were very comfortable with excellent mosquito nets. Security was never an issue and we never felt a need to lock the rooms. Laundry service was available and very much aprreciated. Overall the experience was immersive and authentic, great value for money and we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Abdul and his team!

“Beautiful location and beautiful people”

Talek Bush Camp exceeded expectations. Surrounded by nature - we saw crocodiles, various birds, baboons, monkeys, zebras, hippos, bush buck, dik dik, impalas, mongoose, and buffalos from the camp alone. Friendly staff who are highly knowledgeable and accommodating. Masai warrior guided us through the bush and we learned so much. Amazing food every meal - I have never eaten so much on a holiday before. Clean and well-maintained facilities. Superb location for logistics - 5 mins from Talek gate. Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed!

Myself and my 8 year old daughter stayed here. From the moment we arrived we felt safe, welcomed and comfortable. We stayed in Simba which is a tent. It was was very spacious and clean. All the food was really great and they even made some adjustments for my daughter who is a picky eater. There are no t.vs in the room, however they have starlink internet which is super fast. There is a common room which has a t.v and we went and watched the football in their. So close to the entrance for safari.

I was co-ordinating with Abdel for over 6 months for our Masai Mara/Kenya trip. He was so helpful and patient. Always gave the right suggestions after understanding what were we looking to experience. The resort is located next to the Talek Gate making the access to the park very convenient. The resort is on the banks of Talek river making the experience truly wild with crocs, hippos and other animals always in action. We also opted for Safaris from the resort itself and we had the most knowledgeable local Masai guide. We loved all the meals at the camp and the packed meals during the safari. All the staff were helpful and smiling at all times, making the experience even better. A special mention for the consideration Abdel made by waiving the charge for one night due to a missed flight. Abdel and Mostafa truly love wildlife and you will get to see the passion behind why they are running the resort in the entire experience. Looking forward to visiting Masai Mara again and staying at Talek Bush Camp!

“Excellent choice”

If you are looking for a place to stay, look no further than Talek Bush camp! Firstly, it’s a great location right next to Talek gate (a gate that’s pretty much in the middle of everything in the park, making it easy to get to anywhere in Masai Mara). The accommodation itself is right next to a river in a lovely natural setting where animals come by and you can absorb the nature. They also have people working there to escort you at night to make sure that you are safe (thank you Simon!) The space itself is great as well (we got a free upgrade to the tent which was very luxurious thank you <3). They do measures like hot water between certain hours and no electricity at night (1am-5am), which I think is great to reduce the environmental impact of tourism on the area. Food deserves a special mention - it was honestly the best food we had during our entire trip in Kenya, starting from the veggies, soups, the packed lunches/breakfast when you go on game drives. They also organise game drives and we had the best driver Solomon - big thank to him too! The staff are very welcoming and honestly I would look no further JUST BOOK!

“Great stay on the Talek River right next to the Talek Gate.”

The location on Talek River is very close to Talek Gate to enter the Masai Mara quickly on the morning. Abdul was very helpful and friendly as were the rest of staff. The family tent was not very quiet at night, because you could hear the hippos and monkeys, which made you feel close to the wildlife, which was actually very nice.

Great, relaxed place to stay right by the Talek Gate entrance to Masai Mara Park. The staff were super freindly and helpful and the food was great. Shows arranged in the evenings. Staff arranged a driver to take us into the Park and we were able to spilt this cost with other guests which helped reduce the cost massively. Packed lunch we were given to take into the Park was very nice. They also have long lenses you could hire to go onto your SLR camera for those perfect game shots! The driver who took us into the Park was also lovely and very knowledgeable. The tent where we stayed was clean and beds comfortable. Food wise, ask in advance for vegetarian options but was excellent. You can sit and watch the hippos and crocs in the river from the viewing platform. The pool was also nice.

The ambience is always great at Talek. Simon took the initiative to take my friend and her daughter to the Hippo lake upon our arrival and it brought them bewildering smiles. Kitchen staff were all amazing and flexible, kept fitting our menu change request without a problem. Tent was clean and well maintained. Everyone in Talek is always helpful and happy to help which makes me say, see you all next year! Again, for the best bush camp experience!
