The cabin is beautifully located right by the lake, with direct access to the water and the possibility to use a boat free of charge. Everything was very clean, the facilities were excellent, and the location was perfect. It had everything you need for a few peaceful and relaxing days. The host was very kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay.

Everything! The house is in a stunning location with easy private access to the lake; if you are into watersports then this is perfect. Kayaks and SUP’s are available to hire on site and there are also bikes to hire if you wish to explore the area. The hosts are wonderful, they live in the adjacent farm so on hand should you need advice but also unobtrusive- they have the balance just right. The pictures do not do the location and house justice, the in house sauna is a real bonus and the house itself is warm, comfortable and very well equipped. The owners have also created a scenic forest walk accessible from the property which passes a forest hut equipped with everything to barbecue. Sysmä is the nearest town a short drive away which has 2 well stocked supermarkets for provisions. We had a magical week and would not hesitate to return.

As always, this was the best holiday of the year! The most wonderful hosts, peace and beauty. For several years in a row, we have chosen this place and even come here twice a year. We left only recently, and we are already dreaming of how and when we will return. We wish the wonderful hosts good health and lovely guests.

We loved Villa Himpula. It has all the possible things that you need for a good stay! You can go with the boat or a SUP or you can relax in the sauna/hot tub. There was an x-box and boardgames so we were never bored. The kitchen is fully equipped so you can bake or cook.

We had a truly wonderful stay at this cottage! From the beginning, the host was incredibly kind and responsive, making everything smooth and welcoming. The cottage itself is spotlessly clean, neat, and very well equipped—everything has been thoughtfully prepared with clear instructions for using all the facilities. The heat pump is a great touch—an energy-efficient solution that keeps the place cozy. The sauna was fantastic, fully equipped with everything one could need, and clearly goes beyond just the basics. The hot tub was an amazing experience, especially during the colder months—such a relaxing treat! Just a short 500-meter walk away, there’s a beautiful hut in the forest, which adds to the charm of the location. The outdoor area is very well planned: there are all the essentials for making a fire, boiling water, and barbecuing, and the barbecue area near the beach is perfect, with two long benches creating a cozy and scenic gathering spot. Inside, there’s plenty of entertainment—from group board games and books to an Xbox, making it great for both quiet evenings and fun family time. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations in every way. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and well-equipped getaway in nature!

Everything was amazing, in our opinion, this is the best house in Finland. There is everything you need for a vacation and even more. In a few days we completely rested and recharged. Special thanks to the hosts for their hospitality and warm attitude.

“Stunning and loved Villa Himpula!”

We stayed for 3 nights at Villa Himpula, an absolutely beautiful and luxurious property that is spotlessly clean and ideally located on the lakefront. It has all the listed amenities, along with a variety of toys and games that we and our kids really enjoyed. The owner has considered every possible way to wow guests. Communication with the owner was prompt and reliable. We had a great stay and highly recommend it. We would love to visit again. Thank you so much! :) :)

“A special find!”

Hosts lives nearby, always very helpful but still very discreet. As far as finnish summer cottages go, I think this is a special find. Very close to wildlife and nature with having a very comfortable, well equipped accommodation to stay in. The owners invited us to take part in their traditional midsummer eve celebrations (bonfire by the lake, singing traditional songs 🎵), this was very nice. The house was located on a oat farm and there was also woodland and Countryside to explore. Pirkko also produces and sells her own honey which is delicious.

The location is absolutely stunning and the villa itself both modern and cosy. Communication with the owners was very easy. We loved absolutely everything! We will definitely be back and have already recommended the place to lots of people! Thank you for the perfect stay.

“The perfect place to escape to.”

I cannot believe how lucky we were to stay here. Pictures cannot do it justice. Every detail was lovely - from the quality of the finishes (my partner, who lives in Finland, said the saunas were the nicest he’d ever been in), to all the thoughtful touches (generous linens and towels, chopped wood, a beautiful Easter decoration, children’s toys, spring bulbs, spare shoes… the list goes on!), to the many surprises which weren’t mentioned in the description on booking.com (we both loved the Kota in the woods)! Huge thanks to Pirkko and Juha who are beautiful, kind people. This is visible through their excellent communications, their attention to detail, and the great care they take in the property. They clearly take great pride in providing a magical experience. My partner and I are already discussing when we will return to Villa Himpula. Hopefully soon!
