Fantastic place full of history and character. The building was once a monastery, which makes the stay feel even more special. The breakfast was excellent, with a great selection and high-quality food. The hotel is beautifully located right by the sea, and we were lucky to have a room with a wonderful sea view. The location is perfect and, in my opinion, one of the best bases for exploring the Silver Circle and the surrounding area. If you’re travelling around Iceland, I would highly recommend allowing a few extra days to explore the stunning Snæfellsnes Peninsula — it’s absolutely worth it. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Also, don’t miss the hotel bar! The prices were very reasonable, especially compared with many other pubs and bars in the area. We had a wonderful stay and would happily return. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Wow - right on the harbour with a friendly welcome, this hotel is really nice. Breakfast is plentiful. Not your usual corporate hotel. Stay there if you can.

It is a comfortable big hotel with easy access straight from the ferry to the Westfjords. The young man at the reception was very friendly. Although we made the booking months in advance, we received the last room in the hotel which had a window but no view to speak off. Not something we minded very much but the receptionist offered us on his own initiative (or as a hotel policy) a complimentary drink as a compensation.

The friendly staff and the surprise to find that it was both a hotel and a church. The name should have been a giveaway. Room was smallish but ideal for me and had a nice aspect over the wharf area of the town.

It’s located near the ferry terminal as well as the bus stop to Borgarnes. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable.

We were sent an email a few days in advance with local restaurant options etc, which was useful, then on arrival we were made to feel welcome straight away, the host told us the history of the hotel and helped with our bags. The room was comfortable and spacious with grand views over the harbour, the various recreational areas in the hotel were very cosy. Breakfast was generous, and all the staff we met were super friendly.
