Overview
Quietly located 5 km from Iceland's Ring Road and 13 km from Lake Mývatn, this family-run guest house offers views over Sandfell Mountain. On-site facilities include 2 hot tubs and a communal TV lounge. Free WiFi is available in the common areas. Set on a working farm, Guesthouse Stöng’s simply furnished rooms all have views over the scenic countryside. Each has a washbasin, desk and wardrobe. Bathroom facilities are shared. Breakfast and dinner are served in Stöng’s restaurant with bar. Free tea and coffee are available to all guests. Myvatn Nature Baths with its natural steam baths and bathing lagoon is 31 km from the guest house. Akureyri town centre is about 1 hours’ drive away. Nature watching, hiking and fishing are other common area activities.

The shared showers were also in the basement near the room, while the bathroom was one floor up on the ground floor. Near the bathroom, there was also a kettle and microwave. If you needed plates, forks, or anything else, it was possible to ask the staff in the kitchen and return them later. On the positive side, there is also a shared living room where you can sit, eat, enjoy the view, or just relax. The staff was very nice and friendly. A big plus was that they arranged breakfast from 7:00, even though it normally starts at 7:30, because we were leaving early. That was very thoughtful, and we had a chance to eat before heading out. The breakfast was filling and included different cheeses, meats, bread, and yoghurt with muesli. The place is located just a few kilometers from the main road, which is convenient. It is also very peaceful, with beautiful views around the property, and there are several sightseeing spots nearby.

Erything was clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable, free parking nearby, and the possibility to make coffee, breakfast was very good and we could make waffles. It was quiet apartments.

Very cozy and beautiful location. Perfect place to wind down and enjoy nature. Comfortable facilities. Breakfast was great, we loved the waffle machine.
