This apartment in located in the old town of Stanjel, up on a hill. We were welcomed warmly by Leon and he sat us down at the terrace to tell us a bit more about the area. The view is fantastic from up here. The 2 bedroom apartment we rented is very clean and comfortable. Towels and soap are provided. We were happy to try their in house breakfast (extra charge)and it was delicious! Leon's father and mother in law made breakfast for us and they were so honest, friendly and warm hearted that we felt so welcome! The food was prepared with care and it was very relaxing to dine in the outdoor terrace with the expansive views! Slovenia has fifty shades of green:) Parking is paid for by the host in a nearby open air parking lot down the hill(about 5 mins walk). You van drive up to the entrance of Stanjel, unload your luggage and the house is number 2, just a few seconds walk from the main entrance. But you cannot park here. There is a small grocery shop down the hill next to the main road. Food options for dinner are very limited. Even in summer, the restaurant in Grad Stanjel does not open every night so one has to drive out. Leon is great at providing suggestions and is very helpful with any question you may have.

The small village of Stanjel is very charming, located in a hilly region, dominated by a beautifully restored castle. The house, several centuries old, was spledidly restored, with exceptional taste. Amazing! We appreciated that the owner prepared breakfast for us early Sunday morning. It was excellent, copious, very tasty, using partially local products, served with a smile and generous amounts of coffee, espressos and capuccinos.

The accommodation is located in the small village of Štanjel overlooking the Vipava Valley. The operators are very nice, helpful, they will advise you on planning trips to the surrounding area, give you tips on where to go to eat or where to buy traditional products. They serve an excellent breakfast, made from local products. Definitely recommended.

Lovely apartment with a very friendly host who kindly collected us from the train station to save us pushing our suitcases up the hill to the village on a very hot day. Really nice terrace to enjoy warm evenings.

I loved how the apartments are in a castle, so special! Nice and calm area, the rooms are great and the hosts are amazing! The view is great and Italian seaside is reachable within 40 minutes.

“Beautiful Apartment with an amazing host”

This apartment is absolutely beautiful! The terrace and the view are breathtaking. Štanjel itself is a charming, peaceful little village, but what really makes this place unique is the host, Leon! We arrived by train and accidentally left a bag with an iPad behind. Leon went above and beyond to help us: he tracked the train, drove all the way to its final stop, and just a few hours after we had stepped off, he was at our door with the bag in hand. In the mornings we enjoyed delicious coffee, and Leon’s helpful and warm-hearted family made us feel completely at home. Incredible service and kindnes.
