mediocre and expensive.

we did not have a great stay. There were a lot of broken/missing items, and given the rate we paid for our room we are disappointed. Housekeeping never arrived (but we discovered this at 11:00 pm when we returned our room after being out of the room since 11:00am). Our telephone did not work. Our television did not work. The wifi mostly did not work. The peloton bike in the gym did not work. We requested a rebate / partial refund please - but heard no reply. We paid premium prices (US$1,147.70 for two nights), and did not receive a premium experience.

Always quiet, a positive experience and helps reduce travel stress.

The breakfast was good which is unusual for me because i am on a very restricted diet. The staff as always are among the best I've encountered. They make an effort to get to know customers and work very hard. I travel a great deal for business so am in many hotels and can compare experiences. The hotels in South Bend at the same level (e.g. Courtyard Marriott) have nowhere near the level of service and attention to things like traffic in and out of the property. The GM seems to run a tight ship and people seem to be working together well. The property is very clean. The gym and laundry areas, which are pretty important to business travelers, are clean and functional.

I asked the receipt for 3 times in person. They never give me that, and said it is the third party’s responsibility to do that. After that, I have called the third party and them for 5 times. After 48 hours, they finally emailed me it. It is their responsibility to give the receipt because I paid in the front. It is a very basic sense!

Other than the prepaying for a more expensive King Suite with King bed and receiving a double queen

I love the location, the beds, and the breakfast offered every morning. Also love the low deposit amount being put on hold. One of the major reasons I stay with you rather than others in the area that charge $50/$100 all the way up to Varsity Club which does $200, absolutely ridiculous.

Staff was amazing! My daughter literally loved the front desk staff. Also noticed she was alone for most or all of the night. Not sure if it wasn’t supposed to be busy but the other people waiting were not that friendly. Hopefully she got some help and had a good night!

Very comfortable, affordable and the best pillows!

We came in after being on the road for 12 hours. Rachel was an absolute pleasure, so friendly, welcoming and great fun to talk with. She was very helpful and professional and was a big help!

The hotel was in a very convenient location, room was a good size.

Check in was easy and the staff was friendly! The room was a good size. Breakfast was ok, but was hot and constantly refilled. Coffee was good!

Hostile, rude, didn't give receipt.

Rude staff member, ripped me off by double charging me, and then clearly made no effort to try to believe me when I explained their error. I booked last minute on booking.com specifying a late arrival ( 0100-0200) as I drove from Chicago in the evening and crossed the timezone. The night auditor checked me in with some difficulty, saying she'd already closed the day and was running the audit. But appeared to fix it. I checked out in the morning around 10 am. Staff member refused to give me a receipt saying that they don't for booking.com as it shows the commission the hotel pays (it doesnt). I require the receipt for work expenses. I am in the military and am being posted. My expenses are to be reimbursed. I have stayed at multiple properties with booking.com reservations and always am given a receipt; the website only made the reservation but I paid the property. I left without the receipt and drove 6.5 hours to upstate NY and stayed at a another hotel (for which I do have a receipt). I eventually called back about getting a receipt and the same staff member begrudgingly sent it. The receipt shows me charged double: the first night was marked as a no-show, and my reservation extended to the next night, charging me for both nights, and indicating that I didn't check out until the 3rd day (when I was in NY). It is very obvious to me that this was the auditor's mistake. The reason I rate so poorly is the absolutely hostile treatment I received when I pointed out the error and the refusal to refund me. The tone was of suspicion and sly I'm-not-falling for your scam. Eventually the font desk man said that he had no power to refund me anyway and claimed I need to wait 2 days to speak to manager and then took down details for me to get a call. I will expect the call tomorrow, but if the manager is anything like the front desk agent I am not holding my breath.
