“Very nice hotel in Marajo”

A very good simple, clean comfortable hotel. The rooms are simple but have all the necessary amenities. Breakfast is excellent, public areas are nice, food served for lunch and dinner is tasty and well priced. Staff is cooperative and will efficiently arrange recommended local tours.

We liked the helpfulness of the staff, the quality of the food, swimming pool, garden and the location. The Qarimbo (not sure about the spelling) evening was a big hit. A perfect location to start exploring the island.

Very cosy and comfortable pousada. Super friendly staff and beautiful pool and gardens. On site restaurant is also very good. The staff assisted us with many contacts for taxis and we also hired a scooter which was great for getting around the island.

Very comfortable pousadal. Everything is clean and beautiful. Michelle helped arrange a trip to the buffalo farm and buy bus and ship tickets to Belem. Everything was wonderful.

“Only 1* service but you pay 3* prices, not the best choice”

The hotel has a nice garden. Rooms are basic but clean. The owner and one of the staff, speak English and French which is nice if you do not master Portuguese.

Fantastic location, lovely staff, enjoyable breakfast and great they had bikes you can hire to ride around town.

I liked the fact the management went out of their way to prepare me breakfast at 4:30 am so I could eat before catching the 5:30 am ferry back to Belem. I've never seen that level of customer care in the 144 countries I've traveled to.

“It’s so filthy, I had to take a long shower after leaving.”

The reception was very unfriendly, her name was Ana. Claimed our room was still being cleaned, then she claimed there were still guests in there but no one came to check out while we were at the reception. She wanted us to pay for the room before we even got the keys. I said I will pay as soon as I get the keys. After 20min she said it’s ready. We went there and checked. It was filthy. EVERYTHING was dirty. It was the family apartment, all bed sheets filthy, shower filthy, the microwave was used and dirty, cutlery dirty, even the floor was nasty. We went back angry to the reception. We have traveled a lot, especially in Brazil and have never experienced something like this. I demanded for another room, a clean room. They offered us a small room, in which I made them change the bed sheets as well, since they were dirty, as well as wipe the mirror, because their staff can’t even get that clean. Breakfast is from 07.00-10.00am but they didn’t finish setting up for breakfast till after 07.30am. You can request for Tapioca or eggs but dear lord, if you ask that for breakfast, the staff acts like I asked for a sacrifice. They aren’t smiling, very unfriendly, don’t seem to like to work. We didn’t feel welcome at all. They rent out bikes for 15 real per day but beware. Most of them are broken and in bad condition. I really cannot recommend this hotel.

Friendly staff and good location. Jean was very helpful in giving tips about the island, where to eat, what to see, how to get around etc. As our ferry back to Belem was at 5.30 in the morning, they served a small breakfast at 4.30, which was very kind from them.

Staff are very friendly. Simple room but with all you need: tv, minifrigo, a/c, hangers. Varanda with hammock to chill. Nice restaurant with delicious dishes. Bike loan for up 1 hour or you can rent for the entire day and go to the beach. Laundry services

Nice and simple, yet cozy and refined. Good breakfast! Very nice and helpful staff. Property is expanding and improving. Jean and Rosi were exceptional in making our stay the best possible. We felt at home. The Pousada also displayed some very nice samples of local art craft, which we appreciated very much. The people involved in the tours that were advertised were exceptional too.
