“Perfect stay in cute cozy cottage”

My boyfriend and I stayed in the smaller cottage for two nights and it was just perfect. When we arrived, the cottage was already warm from the under-floor heating that had been turned on prior to our arrival. This was very much appreciated in the freezing temperatures :) The location is perfect, not too far from the airport so it was easy to find and get to, but far enough away from the light pollution of the city so we could see the stars and really appreciate the peace and tranquility. Right beside the cottage there is a beautiful lake - obviously frozen when we visited but we hope to come back one summer and see it when the sun is shining. The cottage itself was very cozy and clean. To me it was bigger than expected but very cozy and sweet - perfect for a two night stay. The private sauna was luxurious and an absolute must when visiting Finnish lapland. I saw a lot of reviews talking negatively about the bathroom being through a separate door to the rest of the cottage - but this is standard for almost every mökki!! It was just a step away and even though freezing outside, you can instantly warm up as there is heating in the bathroom too. There is a parking space right outside of the cottage which was extremely ideal and a engine heater outlet for preheating the engine so its easier to start the car. Inside the cottage there was a very informative booklet welcoming us, full of maps and instructions on how to heat the cottage and use the sauna. There was also a fridge and a stove and pretty much everything needed to make simple meals. The owners of the cottage were amazing - very easy to communicate with, fast responses when I messaged with questions, and best of all took us on an amazing visit to the reindeer farm. They picked us up on snowmobiles and drove us through the farm where they then told us all about the reindeer and let us stroke them and take photos. We then went to the farm shop and had coffee and pulla and looked at their products.

The place is out in the wilderness.....it's amazing.....at this cottage most of the time you don't need to chase northern lights...just stand outside next to a large frozen lake right in front of the cottage... The cottage is nice and cozy and has everything that you need for a comfortable stay... The host is really helpful and also has a lovely raindeer farm which you must visit...

The place and the cottage were excellent! The cottage has a good location, it combines the nature of Lapland and the nearby city of Rovaniemi. However, we liked nature more and this place gave us everything to enjoy it - silence, peace, a wide view of the frozen lake for watching the northern lights, reindeer farms. Yes, here we met the northern lights, which were helped to see precisely by the location of the cottage - away from city lights and the wide landscape. Therefore, there was no need to look for additional tours looking for the northern lights. We also recommend visiting the reindeer garden, because this is an exclusive opportunity to see them in their natural conditions and without large crowds of tourists. Very kind and responsive hostess! The cottage is very warm even at -35 degrees.

“Beautiful”

The cottage is beautifully decorated and very warm for winter days. The staff was very friendly. We come again. The place is very beautiful in nature, where it is wonderful for peace and rest. But not that far from the city.

“A true taste of Finnish hospitality”

This cottage is absolutely perfect! We wanted a taste of real Lapland and were not disappointed, the location is outside of the hustle and bustle of the city - down a track and next to a lake (which was frozen), with amazing vista views across it - with clear view to any Northern Lights that may occur (we weren't that lucky). The facilities are spot on - comfy beds for the whole family, a small kitchen for essential meals - plenty of storage for outdoor clothing, bathroom and sauna! \They even had Christmas lights up on the outside which made it magical. The best feature was the helpful hosts and the fact we were next to a reindeer farm - for a reasonable fee - we have a 2 hour visit with the family to feed the reindeer and get really close to them - learning all about how they're reared and cared for. Sanna-Mari was a fountain of knowledge on all things Reindeer and Finland - a wonderful host. My two children loved the reindeer farm and the fact we could let them out to play in the snow - knowing that it was a safe environment. We also had access to a Grillikota - a barbeque hut, where we could grill food - or in our case, roast marshmallows in the cold night. I cannot recommend this place enough for a true Finnish welcome

“Everything was perfect”

The location in the forest with Aurora sky views over the frozen lake is amazing. The cottage itself is beautiful and had everything we needed. Also the visit to the reindeer farm of the owners was an amazing experience. Sanna Mari provided us all the information about the farm and the reindeers. We had the best time ever and we would love to come back.

The location is stunning, and the cottage had everything we could need with the Aurora right on the doorstep. Exactly what we were after, a beautiful, comfortable, cozy escape without the glitz and glamour. The sauna before bed was perfect.

The location is remote and on a reindeer farm. The owners picked us up in a sleigh and took us to meet 150 wild reindeer. Such an amazing experience. The lodge was very well thought through with a personal sauna. We walked across the frozen lake and hiked in the surrounding snowy forest. We enjoy hunting the Aurora and this is the perfect location. Uninterrupted northern sky views over the lake. Superb location.

Great location and great aurora views

We booked the 3-bedroom-chalet and enjoyed our stay very much. The frozen lake and the breathtaking nature are beautiful photo spot for the northern lights! The chimney made the already cozy chalet more comfortable. Host was very helpful and checkin/checkout was easy.

“The most perfect place to experience Finland in all its beauty”

Everything! The most perfect location about 45-50mins from the airport. Easy roads to drive but perfectly remote to feel so relaxed in Finland. What a stunning property. Comfortable beds, loads of space (we stayed in the big cottage) so many windows to view the deep snow and frozen lake. Sledges to play on, forests to explore in deep snow and well equipped kitchen. The kuta was amazing and we used it every night to cook food over the fire, play darts and listen to Finnish music! The northern lights display on our first night was spectacular, thanks to Sanni for texting us to tell us to go outside and walk on the lake to view the aurora!

We spent wonderful days at the cottage. It’s a beautiful, peaceful place—perfect for relaxation. The reindeer farm was an amazing experience; we highly recommend trying it. Thanks to the low light pollution, the Northern Lights are visible if there is activity (we were lucky enough to see them multiple times). The hosts are very kind and helpful.

“Amazing facilities and location”

Amazing location, great facilities (the big cottage has toilet, shower and sauna inside and as well an outside kota where you can make a BBQ). Everything was absolutely lovely, we were even lucky to see the Northern Lights above the lake.

“Peace & Tranquility In Finnish Woods...”

Location stunning! Peaceful & tranquil. Perfect base for visiting all the family as we do every year! Cottage was smaller than it looked in photos. Fire was a lovely cosy addition. Bed was a mattress on floor upstairs, comfortable for me but himself being taller found it a struggle to get comfortable so slept on sofa downstairs. We like our own space but perfect for those who don't mind being on top of each other. Going outside in middle of night to bathroom not ideal in the cold, easier in Summer i'd guess. Key was accessible. We cleaned up rather than pay the fee, it took 20 mins. Finland is in my genes & in my heart & it was only property in area available for our dates, our favourite Bears Lodge was fully booked up since our stay year previously. It was clean & we weren't disturbed. Guy ploughed snow every day. Wood stack was plenty. Sauna .. fabulous..a must in Finland & now we are building ourselves one here in Ireland!
