Overview
Sommarøy Arctic Hotel is located in the picturesque coastal village of Sommarøy and overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, a 50-minute drive from Tromsø. It offers free private parking. All rooms at Sommarøy Arctic feature a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with shower. Some rooms offer sea views. Free sauna access in included. There are also hot tubs available for a surcharge, both indoors and outdoors. The more adventurous can try sea safari or set out on a fishing trip, which also are arranged by the hotel.

Awesome view from our cabin itself! We are lucky enough to see super nice dancing Aurora right in front our cabin. No words can describe how excited we are. The cabin itself well equipped with toilet and kitchen supplies. Warm cabin just nice for 4 of us and chill inside.

“The hotel is a good base for exploring but not ideal for a longer stay.”
It was clean and functional with high standard of furnishings etc. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was great with a really good shower. Sommaroy Island is a special place. The staff were all good and a couple of them were great. Particularly Toni, who kept the property nice and clean, and was a really lovely person.

We had a wonderful experience at the Arctic Hotel. Clean, cosy and location is perfect, with a spectacular view. Great restaurant staff, good food and the activities we took from the hotel (kayaking + snowshoeing) were excellent - highly recommended.

The Rorbu is big and cozy. Full equiped and with 2 bathrooms. The terrace has a beautiful view were we have been lucky and saw the northern lights. If you choose the breakfast is a good start for the day.

“Close to nature and a good hotel”
We loved the location. It was very smart not to stay In Tromso ( which basically a nice, small town) but to be right in nature and with a chance to see the aurora borealis ( which we did). The lagoon apartment was lovely.

I have been visiting Norway and staying in this hotel for 15 years and always look forward to visiting again. It's great to see the expansion and improvements to what was a small hotel on my first visit.
