Very quiet and beautyful place

“A gem of a place to stay, quiet and serene in a magical setting.”

Set in a beautiful, peaceful location. The room was clean and comfortable with a nice bathroom and some common areas to relax and enjoy the view. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the restaurant had great food. The proximity to the Cathedral and surrounds was a bonus. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This hotel was stunning. We were expecting a simple place. Skalholt was beautiful. Like a guest house with lots of cozy spaces to relax in comfort and enjoy the views. The hot tubs were an added bonus. Would highly recommend this place as the best stay we have had during our Iceland travels. Close to many attractions on the Golden Circle but situated in a private and very beautiful location. Easy to find. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Bravo! 👏🏼

One of my favorite hotels in Iceland, always a pleasure to stop by. High quality food made with love, zero waste mindset and and excellent home made kombucha! Comfy beds and pillows. Surrounded by the historical church, the place has such a mystical energy that deserves the stop: you won’t regret it.

We loved staying at the hotel. It is very close to laugarás lagoon so you can relax after spending time there. We probably had the best burger we ever had. Staff was very friendly.

Hot tube, delicious restanurant (they brew their own kombutcha) and great personnel.

Lovely fresh clean modern hotel. Nice and quiet. Room was a good size and well appointed.

The food was delicious and wonderfully presented. The hot tub under the Northern Lights was just incredible. The hotel was quiet and relaxed.

We spent already one night in here the last year, so we know that this is a good hotel. Nothing change. Still great atmospheare and i love the rooms too.

“Lovely Stay”

Clean, comfortable and modern Hotel near the Golden Circle. As with most of Iceland the Hotel was situated in a very pretty area next to the Skaholt Cathederal. All staff i encountered were friendly and professional. Breakfast was okay with the normal fair of cooked meats, cheeses, pastries etc. Bed very comfortable and private shower had plenty of hot water. Would definitely stay here again.

Really nice welcoming hotel which is comfortable and peaceful. Good restaurant, breakfast and great hot tub. Interesting church and museum on site and close to many Golden Circle points of interest.

Everything nice, staff helpful, breakfast good, can be even quiet if the Spaniards are transferred to the isolated hall...

I liked the place so much that I sdayed another day. The location was great. Near all the important attraction in the aria.The hotel for itself is a beutiful old building that went through interesting inovatin. Like the rofe in any room can be opend exposing the sky. Also the interior is full of caracter and bieuty. The hotel is located in beutifull surounding. Next to it standing a very nice and ancient catadrela. There are few siting place with view to a lake or river? .Among the few sitting place there is a very nice room for group meeting with a piano (I dind try the sound of it). Outside there are 2 spas. I didnt try it. I took only once a brekfast and it was very good. Breakfast is not included and I like it. Becouse basicly the price is cheper. and I can choose. The rooms are big, clean, the bed very confortale. And most important are the staf. They were the best. After 10 days in iceland this is the best hotel by far.

The hotel location nearby from Golden Circuit is superb. The rooms size and services is excellent in comparison to the value of price during high season.
