Rustic old style hotel, we had a room with a shared bathroom, it had a cute little balcony.

The whole experience was splendid—the beautiful room as well as the delicious supper. The staff were kind and welcoming and the old buildings were beautiful.

The hotel was incredibly atmostpheric, vistas of beautiful colour painted rooms, interesting pictures and history, a fire in the evening, flowers. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. And the staff couldn't have been more helpful.

“A special occasion place”

Such a special place, steeped in (art) history, fabulous light, good balance between modernisation whilst keeping the historic feel. Comfy beds. Fabulous food.

Historic associations. Our room in main hotel had a view of the garden and ships in the port beyond. Shared bathrooms were spotless. We liked the help yourself tea/coffee early morning. Breakfast was very good. The lounge was pleasant to sit in during the evening.

The breakfast food, room and staff were all excellent. And our bedroom was very comfortable and the absence of the usual hotel junk (television, en suite shower, etc)made for a restful sleep and an energised awakening. I did not mind the shared toilet and shower facilities as the linen goods (towels, bathrobe, etc) gave me a sense of luxury. So often in hotels the shower head is faulty, especially in limestone areas; the showers near to our room, 113, were in very good condition. But the breakfast was the perfect set up for the day. And we booked an evening meal on our last night and our group of 7 all declared it a wonderful experience. Throughout our stay, each staff member we spoke to was really helpful and a pleasure to talk to. Thank you.

We had a wonderful stay at Brondums. We were on a 70 th birthday trip with friends - after seeing an Anna Ancher exhibition in London. It was all so special - the story , the museum, the town , the art and of course the hotel certainly did not disappoint. The character of the hotel with the style, the history and the great service made this one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. I do so hope with the purchase by a new owner that they preserve all those qualities and don’t change the rooms and add en suites. It is so beautiful as it is.

“Lovely hotel with a long and fascinating history”

The hotel has a fascinating history. I was assigned to the same room where Hans Christian Andersen once stayed when he visited Skagen. That was absolutely mind-blowing. The room and the shared toilet/shower facilities were very clean.

Amazing old hotel, well located just by the centre of Skagen! What not to like! We had to leave before breakfast, but the hotel kindly made us some food to go!

This is an excellent historical hotel with a lot of charm, character and a great place to stay and relax. We had a family room and so were in the annex building, which is a few minutes walk from the main building. It was nice in that there were two bedrooms, one for the child and one for the adults. The breakfast was exceptional, and you are eating in the historical dining room, where all of the famous, historical Skagenians would once gather. We really loved this stay.
