“It was the best and I will definitely be back and recommend to friends”
I loved the old style charm of the hotel and in particular the staff were so lovely, welcoming and helpful. The room number 80 was amazing, very spacious with beautiful views and a separate air conditioned section with tv, sofa bed and fridge for chilling out

“A rare gem”
There are hotels that try very hard to feel “authentic”, and then there are places like this, where authenticity simply exists without announcement. The moment you walk through the door, you feel it. The antiques are not styled for Instagram, they are part of the building’s memory. Polished wood, worn fabrics, old keys, quiet corners. Everything carries the reassuring confidence of somewhere that has been loved for decades rather than redesigned last winter. What lingers most, though, is the welcome. Returning in the evening, you are greeted not with rehearsed hospitality, but with genuine warmth. One gentleman in particular seems to possess the rare art of making guests feel instantly at ease. His voice has the comforting cadence of an old chanson, gentle, positive and deeply reassuring after a long day exploring. He asks how your day was in a way that makes you realise how rarely people really mean the question anymore. Service here is impeccable, but never stiff or overperformed. Nothing is too much trouble, yet everything is handled with quiet discretion and old-school professionalism. The atmosphere recalls the great family-run hotels of France that are becoming increasingly rare. There is an honesty bar that encourages guests to slow down, pour a drink and settle into the rhythm of the house rather than rush through it. This is not modern luxury in the glossy sense. It is something far harder to create: elegance, ease and human warmth. The sort of hotel that reminds you why people fell in love with travelling through France in the first place.

“Lovely, traditional Hotel in central Sisteron, with friendly staff and comfortable rooms”
This is a lovely, traditional, family-run Hotel. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable with a great view of the citadel. We had an excellent nights sleep and the location in centre of Sisteron is perfect. Excellent breakfast also. We will always return to this Hotel when staying in Sisteron!

Liked everything about this hotel. I was so looking forward to eating in the restaurant that evening only to be told that it was closed, just for that evening. The breakfast was good, and so was the location.

“Great hospitality in a family run business”
It’s a very quaint building in a great location. The staff including the owner are amazing and a special shout out to the owners mother, who we spent a short time with whilst we had dinner. She must be so proud of how the family is continuing the family legacy. Thoroughly recommend a stay or even just a meal which was amazing.

“Friendly and well attentive staff, clean and good food”
The address hooked into the sat nav took me outside the hotel across the road. & From the side , Hotel du Cours is fairly non descript however, warm welcome was had, and I took dinner (lamb a speciality) and breakfast which were both good and worth the monies.. would Definitely book again, brilliant location and attentive staff is what I have missed this trip so far. Don’t forget the cake trolly ..!
