Our stay at Simondium’s Country Lodge was truly delightful. Our room was spacious, snug, and supremely comfortable, though a hairdryer would have been a small but welcome addition. What truly set our experience apart was the warmth of the owner and the staff. Andrew, in particular, went above and beyond to attend to our every need with genuine kindness. Breakfast was an absolute highlight—a sumptuous feast with a vast assortment of delicious options, served in a beautifully decorated dining room that radiated calm and elegance. Every moment at the lodge felt special, and we can’t wait for the day we can return. Simondium’s Country Lodge isn’t just a place to stay—it’s an experience to savor.

“Avoid this place”
The place is run down and needs a good clean up. The carpets are awful. The water pressure terrible. The breakfast was not ready at 8. The staff argued amongst themselves in the dining room about the breakfast or lack thereof.

The staff were super friendly. The lodge is well positioned close to surrounding wine farms. I enjoyed the breakfast in the old style dinning hall. The AC was a life saver! Comfy bed and pillows.

“The definition of value for money”
My family and I (in-laws and husband) loved absolutely everything about Simondium's Country Lodge. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, the lodge itself is gorgeous, the rooms were beautiful and comfortable, the food was INCREDIBLE, the pool was clean and warm and the location was central to everything we wanted to do in Franshoek. Simondium's Country Lodge is the definition of value for money and we cannot wait to book again.

There was a terrible smell of sewer coming from the bathroom. It negatively affected our stay. The property was not clean and sparkling - it is old and grubby.

“Over all we had a very pleasant experience”
Friendly and welcoming staff. Breakfast was delicious. Very tranquil. Loved the animal life and the old world charm reminded me of home. Unfortunately we didn’t manage to explore the whole property as our stay was very brief.

Andrew were so friendly and helpful. The location is perfect and safe Big room, everything you need is there. Very clean amazing gardens. This was such a good experience 🎉
