The upper villas are definitely a better option for us older bodies as they are easier access (although still up A frame stairs) the amenities are better and more substantial. Klaudja is a real gem and is very attentive and professional. Breakfast was awesome and set us up for almost our entire day. “Warm & Wholesome!”

From start to finish, our stay with Alex and Clodi was absolutely wonderful. We arrived a little earlier than expected, and they went above and beyond to prepare our room right away so we could get settled in. We would’ve been perfectly happy to wait until the usual check-in time, but they insisted on making sure we were comfortable, such genuine kindness! ☺️ We had dinner at the on-site Aleksi Restorant both nights, and the food was exceptional. The quality and freshness were outstanding! Clodi kindly brought out some traditional Albanian dishes for us to try, including homemade Albanian cornbread, as well as fruits and vegetables from their own garden. Everything was delicious and prepared with so much care. Their homemade wine was another lovely surprise, smooth and very enjoyable! The menu focuses mainly on fish, and every dish we tried was incredible. My wife had the sea bass and seafood linguini, while I enjoyed the crab meatballs and breaded shrimp, all freshly caught from Lake Shkoder or the sea. Truly, we couldn’t have asked for better meals. Breakfast each morning was just as wonderful, Albanian pancakes with homemade fig jam, fresh cucumbers and tomatoes, fried eggs, coffee, and blueberry tea. Every bite felt homemade and prepared with love. On the first full day of our stay, we got a minibus from Shkoder up to Theth for a day of hiking, which provided some incredible scenery! Due to this, we had an early start and sadly missed breakfast. Clodi prepared some sandwiches for us to take as a packed lunch, which really hit the spot! What kindness! Our accommodation was spotless and so comfortable. The bed was cosy, the bathroom immaculate, and the shower perfect. The hot tub was the cherry on top, a relaxing treat that made our stay even more special. Alex and Clodi, if you’re reading this, thank you so much for your incredible hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. You made our time in Albania unforgettable.

We had our start of a longer trip through Albania at Alex's house and it was amazing! They were really kind, the breakfast was simply great and the perfect start for the day. We enjoyed some house wine in the cozy seats in front of the house. Thanks a lot for this wonderful experience.

The Whirlpool was amazing. The hut was very clean and cozy.

I would like to thank Alex in particular.

This is my second time to stay in Alexis house, such a cozy experience, every body was kind , the villa was clean , smell very nice , breakfast was so good, it would highly recommend this place , and if I will visit albania again sure I will choose alex house

“Exceptional hosts, great location, super little lodge!”

Alex and his wife are exceptional hosts. They make you feel so welcome, it was like visiting friends rather than staying in a hotel. Food is very good, specialises in fish. The lodge has a fabulous view of the lake. We didn’t have a hire car, the hosts lent us 2 bicycles which we used to cycle to Shiroka and swim in the lake and into central Shkoder. Although positioned above an averagely busy road you don’t notice this. Alex and his wife are hugely helpful, they even gave us a lift to meet our ongoing transport. The lodge is comfortable with AC, fridge, TV and Eggs chairs to enjoy the view.
