“The best way to explore Shirakawa-Go on a budget”
A nice guesthouse in the non-historical part of Shirakawa-Go. The room was okay, even though the walls and wardrobe showed signs of aging. There was free food (one portion per day per person), which was necessary, because the restaurants inside the village close quite early. The toilet was clean and modern. The bedding was relatively soft for a futon. It is close to the historical town, however you do have to walk a bit (10-15 minutes) to get there. Nearby there is a combini (NOT open 24/7) and a gas station. The cost was low, however I didn't travel in the peak season in winter.

The hotel is very next to the river hence gives you a beautiful view. The room was comfortable and large enough for 2 people.

“Perfect. Convenient.”
Stayed only 1 night. We liked everything. Was nice surprise that there was various food prepared for us. The shirakawa go is really very close. Nice walk.

“Nice place to stay in Shirakawa-go”
The room is very cosy with a super nice futon bed and confy pillows. We got some amazing local ingredients from the local shop, so we could make our own Hida beef dinner. The common toilette is very clean! It is super nice to stay overnight, because the village can be very crowded during the day (day trips). After 4 pm you have the feeling that the whole valley and the village is yours. The landscape is amazing, and you can have some late evening dinner at a nearby Izakaya. We loved the cute hand-made info books at the table telling you all the stories about the surroundings and good cafes, eateries. Thank you for everything!

Very comfortable and well stocked! It had everything you could possibly need, it anticipated our needs very well! The futon was comfortable and the rooms were lovely, it was also very quiet. There was also a conbini very close

“Lovely accommodation and thoughtful host!”
The boat was very thoughtful in providing a wide range of food which included noodles, milk, butter and many more. We could literally have breakfast, lunch n dinner without having to buy any food. They even provided facial cleanser! It is located very near the Shirakawago village - you could walk there if you like. Property is clean and is quiet.

“Our surprise favorite stay in Japan! A real home with real personality”
A real gem! Traditional, warm, great facilities, homey, great gifts and amenities from the owner, handmade guides from the owner helped us enjoy his beautiful village. The view of the river from the bedroom is amazing. It made us wish we had more time here to just sit and evening and enjoy a homecooked meal in the property.

We had a very nice room with the view of the river, the room was comfortable and there was a lot of great stuff in the shared space! The hand made Shirakawago travel guide was super cute and helpful, we really recommend this place if you are ever visiting :)

We stayed 1 night and was disappointed that most of the restaurants closed early and we did not managed to get any dinner. The host anticipated this and he has lots of instant food available. We had our dinner eating the instant food. That was thumbs up. The place is just about 10 mins walk away from the main attraction area which is just great
