Our group loved our stay here! The hosts were incredibly kind, were extremely accomodating (even to the point of driving us to an onsen after dinner and to the station when we left!), and cooked delicious meals. The house is along the river, and with the new deck that has been built at the back, it was so lovely to sit outside and enjoy the quietness. Would love to come and stay here again!!

The house was full of quirky artefacts. Aside from the functional essentials such as a good size fridge, air con etc, there were a number of various and different pieces or art and nick knacks. It was extremely quiet, clean and peaceful, and after six days in the mountains we appreciated this laid back paradise.

Very authentic stay, wonderful host who went above and beyond to help us ( drove us to the seven 11 to get supplies and Very kindly drove us to the station on the day we left, and with a bento box to eat on the train)

Host was superb. She spoke little English but was better prepared than us with translations. The food prepared for us (2 night stay) was without fault. Our host catered well for us - considered, fresh and well presented with attention to detail. Accommodation was spacious for sleeping. Wouldn't have used the kitchen for various reasons. Accommodation was obviously a restaurant previously but could definitely do with some updating. A lot more 'homely' than the photos show. That said we did enjoy our stay and our host was wonderful.

It was a really imersive experience at a Japanese house. Shimosato had fantastic views, a calm and serene place. The food, dinner, and breakfast were delicious, homemade delicious sushi. We loved staying in such a lovely place. We were welcome in an amazing way. We were grateful for the sunny day for visiting the nachi falls. It was a perfect day.

Absolutely amazing experience!!! 🤩 The owner took such a good care of us - she pre-heated the accommodation to let us into warm atmosphere in winter. She offered us an amazing home cooked dinner, which definitely exceeded our expectations 😋 (paid extra, but very much worth the price!). She is such a kind and noble person. We gave her a small gift on check out and she reciprocated us 🎁. The breakfast was also amazing! The free parking spot in this nice stopover area for the drive through tour was a big plus! Can only wholeheartedly recommend!

The owner is a wonderful and very kind lady and the food was amazing. This was one of our best stays sure a 3 week trip through Japan. We only stayed one night but would stay longer next time. Would definitely recommend!

Everything. The lady gave us a very warm welcome. The food was great, especially the dinner. The house is very beatufil and well kept.

The host was super friendly and hospitable. Amazing homemade ramen and sushi were served with heart. Very organized and spotless in the house we live in, which looks like a restaurant turned accommodation - but comfy enough! With such good price, this went well above exceptional! Gave us an umbrella to go with us when the weather turned bad on the day when we checked out.
