This is the second time I have stayed at Bon's home. Is a perfect choice for traveling in Shiretoko with nice service, good facilities, and delicious Hokkaido potatoes.

Wonderful host, and great food. They were happy to accomadate dietary requirements. Its kept very clean and organised, and the room was a good size to fit all in. They have a good collection of games and manga and a TV, and a few kitchen essentials. It's also a perfect location for Shiretoku national Park. They also gave us a stamp! Would reccomend.

I booked for two nights and unable to stay and staff greeted me is total not helpful and not friendly at all not sure how this property got good ratings. But coffee shop opposite the building was nice food and very friendly

A small cute apartment above the cafe. Meals are delivered to the apartment. Fabulous food. A minute from bus station.

The staff is very friendly, the rooms are cozy and the food yummy.

It was in a very good location for the bus and the cafe opposite was excellent. The lady of the house was absolutely lovely. Great if you like potato based foods.

the most value solo backpacker shelter located at walking distance from the bus stop. near to small town centre. easy to move around.

It was my first time staying in a dormitory type room. The futons are so comfortable I fell asleep in an instant. Location is good because it is very close to the bus station. You can also order food from the cafe to eat upstairs in the living room.

It was possible to also have dinner a bit spontaneously in the evening when arriving and it was very delicious. The room itself is probably not too spacious if there are three people in, but I only had one roommate and that was no problem. The host is extremely nice.

Very friendly atmosphere, a fantastic breakfast included. Catered to vegetarian diet with such thought! Felt very much at home and a true Japanese guesthouse. The puddings and potato dishes are very good!

This feels more like staying at your grandparents home than in a hotel. The host is so nice and I felt she genuinely cared for my well being while I was there. I was doing a lot of hikes around bears and she always made sure that I would be careful and safe. The guesthouse is on three floors and I stayed at the top floor in a spacious room. There is a living room to hang out and its well equipped and the shower room is also nice and the bathroom. Very clean and everything is nice. Its a great location because its only 1 minute walk to the bus station and 1 minute walk to the only 7-11 store. They let me leave my luggage when I came to town so I could start exploring as soon as I arrived in the morning. There are some rules you need to follow in this house and the most important to know is that they lock the doors at 23pm and you can not enter after that time. But its a small town and there is nothing available to be doing outside after 23pm anyways so it was no problem for me.

Breakfast was traditional Japanese cooked by the lovely host. It was really delicious! The hostel had a very homely feel overall and the location was great.

Amazing breakfast and very nice hot bath. The common room makes you feel at home. It's very practical as it's a one minute walk to the bus terminal and everything in the town.

Lovely place, with a very lovely woman who takes care of the place and who cooks delicious breakfast and amazing lunch and cakes all made of potatoes. In the centre of Utoro and 2min walk to the bus station, to convenience stores and restaurants. Feels like home! And the hot bath is great!

“Great location and host”

Great location, just seconds away from the bus station and near the main spots to visit in Utoro. Everything is clean and has a new feeling to it. The hostess was really kind, and we spoke both in japanese and english. The food is also delicious, and quite different from what I had tried so far in Japan, really recommend trying it out. This part is not related to the accomodation, but if you want to book a tour of the Five Lakes area (mandatory in bear season), I really recommend Hataya-san from Shinra, a tour company with an office close by. The experience is really worth it, and it includes transportation between your accomodation and the Five Lakes.
