Hostel placed in good position to visit the city. Most of all , the owner speaks English and give excellent advices on how to avoid crowds while visiting the best places around shangri la . We extended our trip for other 2 days

I really enjoyed it here and if I could I would have stayed longer. The staff and owner were really nice and helpful and gave a warm and welcoming feeling. They answered every question I asked and were happy to help. The hotel is in a really good location near a lot of things in the old city, not far from where you can take a bus to activities outside. It was really good! I wish I could have stayed longer, thank you very much for a pleasant and good stay, hope to comeback here again!

“Wonderful stay with lovely people and cats!”
We spent a wonderful trip in Shangri-La and it is partly due to our stay at Yi’s Hostel. The owner speaks English fluently (and so many other language) and the team in general is extremely helpful. It was nice to learn more about Tibetan heritage thanks to him and his own culture. We really like interesting conversations near to the fireplace with him and all the lovely cats. The rooms are confortable and there is everything inside to warm you up after a day outside (heater and electric blanket). The place also propose food (with vegetarian options available) which was sometimes really convenient! Perfect location in the old city.

“Great place run by very friendly people”
It is a fantastic place with very friendly people. They welcomed us at the train station and were helpfull at every moment of the day. Breakfast was very good as well. I would recommend this place.

“Perfect Shangri La accommodation, particularly for solo travelers”
What a beautiful little place, so full of character! The lovely family who own/run this place and live on site are the most accommodating and friendly. So centrally located, has everything you need - heater, electric blanket, hot water, tea and coffee always boiling on the fire downstairs. Food was yummy too - try the barley porridge!! No complaints at all, thanks guys :) oh and cute cats too

“Comfortable and affordable stay in family hostel with character”
Clean, comfortable, and affordable rooms in a family home with character. Tenzin and his family are wonderful hosts - helpful, kind, curious, and accommodating. The hostel is centrally located in the heart of downtown Shangri-La and it is easy to get around, be it on foot, by bus, or by car.

Warm friendly welcome, couldn't have been more helpful. Superb local knowledge and assistance with planning and booking our independent trek to Tiger Leaping Gorge. Good food available at all times and fantastic ginger tea.! Excellent location and help with transport. Thank you Daniel and family!

Well equiped comfortable room. The air-heater is very silent, good for sleeping. Super comfortable bed. Friendly English speaking staff Great location in the old town & still accessible for taxis.
