Lovely little inn, located in a calm village. Really helpful staff, great food and lots of tips for transportation and the surrounding area. Highly recommend!

“Incredible”

Everything was perfect. The hotel is beautifully done in traditional tibetan architecture and our rooms had the most incredible view. Our rooms had a balcony overlooking the gorge directly. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was perfect. The staff was super friendly and nice and the local food was very tasty. Everything was 10/10 we loved our stay. They helped us organise trips in the near area (fantastic trails with no tourists) and farther away to Lijiang and Shangrila. Thank you very much and hope to see you again!

Tibet Guesthouse is located in an extraordinary setting in the middle section of Tiger Leaping Gorge in Walnut village. The family who run the guesthouse are lovely, helpful people. They really looked after us. They even booked us two mules to bring us up from the river. It was the only way we were going to get back. The food is fabulous. I highly recommend the banana pancakes and the noodle soups.

Our stay was exceptional. After a long drive, we were welcomed by the owner with the warmest smile, which was exactly what we needed. She prepared our room with great care and made us feel completely at home in her guesthouse. She even relocated the chickens that were crowing early in the morning so we could enjoy a longer sleep. We were treated to scrumptious breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all freshly prepared on site—truly home‑cooked food away from home. The location is perfect, with stunning mountain views, easy access to nature, and numerous hiking trails nearby. It was an unforgettable stay for our family.

“Perfect guesthouse to rest in after hiking Tiger Leaping Gorge”

The owners are just delightful and went out of their way to help us. Dorna speaks pretty good English and made us so welcome. The rooms are basic but comfy and clean. The food in the evening was excellent and dome if the best we’ve eaten. We were able to organise with them for our bags to be sent there as we walked Tiger leaping Gorge. They were just the sweetest kindest family who run this place and they have a range of good beers to try.

Everything, clean, comfortable and views to die for! When you wakevup, rocks are looking at you through window. This is a family business and the son Luosangdawa runs the business very well. And his cooking skills are exceptional. He picked us up from Shangri la airport (quite late) in a very comfortable car. Roads are so good, we didn't even feel the journey. Despite late arrival he cooked us a dinner from dreams: yak's stir fry. Variety of food was surprising. You MUST try his baba bread, insanely tasty and variety of his pancakes. He drove us to Tiger Leaping Gorge and picked us up after several hours. He made a tour around Shangri La/Napa Lake, Small Potala, waiting for us and advised us on local food. He is an excellent owner who looks after his guest very well. His brother's cafe is so beautiful with mind-blowing views and equipped so well; you should try the coffee there; the name is Tingtaodu cafe. Overall we had an excellent time thanks to our host.

We had wonderful time, the owner is super kind. We got a room upgrade, room was very spacious and clean. The area is beautiful for hiking.

“Best stay in China with our “Tibetan family””

Everything. Excellent staff. Excellent value for money. Great room with amazing mountain views. Comfortable bed. Complimentary tea and water. The food was fresh and delicious. Although we are Vegan and also have severe dietary restrictions (no chillies, garlic or pepper), it wasn’t a problem at all. However, the highlight was that we were made to feel part of the family. We were invited to visit their farm high up in the mountains (Walnut Garden village) and sat around the fire for a tea with the family.

My stay at Tibet house was exceptional. It is a family run guest house situated at the side of Yulong Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in a beautiful village very close to the famous attraction Tiger Leaping Gorge. It is perfect for outdoorsy people who are interested in hikes and it was my personal favourite hike I ever did. The family was kind and welcoming and made me feel at home. The rooms are rustic and comfortable. They have a restaurant downstairs which is very convenient and I was even shown the farm where the produce for all the food is from, meat, vegetables, fruit, nuts, eggs, the food is incredibly clean and delicious. The guesthouse also arranged cars and travel back to Lijiang for me which was very helpful for getting around. I highly recommend this stay.☺️

The guesthouse is located at the end of the Tiger Leaping Gorge hiking route. We set off from Tea Horse Guesthouse and walked all the way to Zhang Laoshi Guesthouse, where the owner kindly drove over to pick us up and take us back. The guesthouse is very close to Lower Tiger Leaping Gorge. The next morning, we left the guesthouse and reached the starting point of the Lower Gorge trail within five minutes on foot. From there, we hiked all the way down to the banks of the Jinsha River. As the descending trail at Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge is currently closed, hiking the Lower Gorge made our entire Tiger Leaping Gorge trek feel complete. The family who run the guesthouse are incredibly warm and welcoming, and the two brothers who manage the place are very handsome! On the night we stayed, the family happened to be holding a memorial gathering for their late grandmother. Even so, they still welcomed us in. We were invited to join the kind and hospitable local villagers for the meal, and it was a special opportunity to experience the local customs firsthand.

Great food, friendly staff, great location

“A Warm Welcome at Tibetan Guesthouse”

I had a truly wonderful couple days staying at Tibet Guesthouse. I was picked up and dropped off at the bus stop. I enjoyed having a more local experience, but it would also be okay to do your own thing if you preferred. . The host Zhuoma and her family were so welcoming. Zhuoma and her son told me about local hikes. One afternoon I went down to the river and was able to return on horseback. On my second day I was invited by Zhuoma and her niece to join them at their Farm high up in the mountain where I could see the animals and then go for a hike across the mountain. It was an incredible view across the mountains and Valley from the guest house and from my room. The room was warm and comfortable with good heating and an electric blanket The food was delicious and I had a lot of fun being included in the family meals around the stove. My last morning I was invited to a village event with Zhuoma and her niece, which again was a wonderful experience - to be amongst the local villagers with my host. My stay at Tibetan Guesthouse felt like a very connecting personal experience that you wouldn't find at any big hotel and I'm very grateful to Zhuoma and her family for welcoming me and making my stay so enjoyable.

“Worth it to make comeback!”

The view of this guesthouse so worth it to stay. The owner are very helpful and kind since we have been arrived. He help us to make our vacation going smooth with driving us to the places we requested. The owner also still young and handsome! Anyway the place are so strategic near with Jinsha River but just need to hike up and hike down for around 3 hours. And also near with Tea Horse Restaurant.

I couldn't have been happier with my choice. The guest house is lovely, with a traditional flair and mesmerising views. What also made it special were the family running the guest house. They were also very kind, and I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations. The location is perfect and convenient for hiking. The food selection was great as well. Hope to come again someday.

Everything! The view was incredible, we were well looked after by the family running the place- all kind and very welcoming with a good level of English, the location was great and there was always a selection of fruits and nuts directly from their garden to snack on! Wonderful.
