This desert camp offers a very special and peaceful experience. We had an amazing stay and felt completely relaxed from the moment we arrived. We enjoyed our stay in a similar camp of the same owner so much, that we spontaneously decided to extend our stay by another night – which says everything about how special this place is. The owner was incredibly kind and attentive, and the entire team took wonderful care of us. He also gave us great recommendations on how to spend the day in the desert, which made the experience even more special and beautiful. We felt very welcome and well looked after throughout our stay. The food was excellent, and overall it was a truly unique and unforgettable experience that we would highly recommend to anyone looking for something special and authentic.

The property is at a perfect location in the middle of the desert, surrounded by the vast empty desert. I wanted to experience the isolated desert moments catching the sunset, sunrise and star gazing, and this property did that perfectly. The service from the staff and the food quality leaves with nothing to complain about.

If you seek an authentic experience far from crowded camps you will happen to see from the dust road, ShootingStar Private Camp is the place to be. As deserts lover, I can tell with objectivity: this is my "Top 1" forever. With only 2 tents, it offers total privacy for our family configuration (2 adults and 2 girls 13yo and 11yo) and a remote and preserved location together with an exceptional service. The "glamping" is breathtaking and at its best: beautiful Omani decor for the tents and the common areas, pristine cleanliness, and top-notch comfort with Western toilets and even hot showers! The food was objectively the best we had in Oman, served with exquisite care. We still wonder how they manage such quality in the middle of the dunes! Activities like sandboarding, camel riding, hiking around in the infinity of the dunes, stargazing from the elevated observatory, or the campfire at night were magical. The colors around, the sunset beyond words offer a raw beauty where time stops. In this place, you feel like everything begins and ends at the same time. A special mention to the staff: smiling, friendly yet discreet, remarkably attentive, and working with such dedication to ensure everything is perfect for your stay. Above all, this was a true human encounter. Hamad, the owner, embodies Omani renowned hospitality and culture; we felt like valuable guests, not simple customers. He and his team go above and beyond to make your stay incredible. In France, we have a saying : "a place is only as good as the people who run it" and this is so true here. Hamad has the "vision" of how things should be done there, forever respect for that. My daughter wanted to keep this place a secret for our family and didn't want me to post a review, but such excellence deserves to be known. ShootingStar is a place to recharge and bond with your loved ones—a true paradise that never leaves you.

The camp was amazing. The tents were super comfortable, clean and spacious. The food was abundant and really flavorful could compete with restaurants. What made it exceptional though was the staff, they made sure we had the best time. Always checking in on us if we needed anything and provided recommendations. We had great conversations with Hamid about omani life and culture. Was a bliss to disconnect, slow down and connect with other people in the camp.

I had an amazing stay at Shooting Star Camp in Wahiba Sands. The tents were beautiful and the beds very comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious, and the private setup for 4 people made it feel so special. The night sky full of stars was breathtaking, and I also enjoyed the camel ride. A truly wonderful desert experience — highly recommended!

“Serenity!”

Unique experience in isolation. Enjoyed the serenity and calm! Lovely, clean tent and bathroom hut. Dinner was absolutely delicious! Imran was very attentive. We took a transfer into the desert so we didn't have the stress of driving ourselves which was definitely the right decision for us! It was a nice ride and Hamad told us a lot about the history and current situation in Oman on our ride back the next day.

An amazing desert experience. There was one member of staff who slept overnight, who cooked a great dinner and breakfast for us in a Bedouin tent. The following day we had a Bedouin guide who took us further into the desert. He managed to find a variety of reptiles and mammals by following tracks and digging in the sand. We saw a lot more than we expected to and was very interesting to talk to somebody who actually lives in the desert.
