This peaceful retreat is in the historic town of Sepúlveda, midway between Madrid and Burgos, in the Castilla y León region. Free private parking, lift, and free WiFi are available. The Hoces del Río Duratón Natural Park is 5 minutes' walk from the Hotel Rural Vado del Duratón. The park is home to rare birds, such as griffon vultures, and you can go mountain biking and hiking. The town's Tourist Information Centre is also nearby and La Pinilla Ski Resort is 30 km away. “Stayed 1 nite to recover from a wedding.”
The older woman at the desk when we arrived was rude. She would only speak to my son (who spoke very little Spanish) and refused to even look at me (his mom), who spoke Spanish. I thought this kind of attitude was gone but apparently not in small towns in Spain. The hotel was lovely, comfortable, affordable.

Location, location, location. Sepulveda is truly fantastic. We did the Dos Rios walk, and visited the Ermita Dos Frutos. Explanation and willingness to help were very good. Free parking.

“A peaceful location but still within very easy walking distance of the centre”
we’ve stayed here before and it’s a perfect location en route south or north to the ports of Santander and Bilbao. The satnav took us on a very awkward route so anyone wanting to stay here should stick to the main road and not be tempted by driving down a narrow alley ending at the Plaza Mayor.

“Lovely place to stay”
Spotlessly clean and in a great location. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We had to leave early so they served our breakfast 30 minutes before the normal time. Exceptional service!

It was difficult to find but in a charming location in this attractive little town. The receptionist and staff were very pleasant.
