Ive been staying here for over 7 years, i mix my time in Korea between staying with friends and staying here (allows me to stay longer) i've never had a bad thing to say about this place, they never drop the ball. only thing i ever felt funny about was when they suddenly had a male staff member, as a female hostel i think naturally this should always be staffed by females, it just feels more comfortable. its always kept clean, the staff are friendly and i can always come back and not have to worry about a thing

I had a lovely stay, it was very busy but the staff did their best to keep the place clean. I appreciated the basic complimentary breakfast and the common area, which was warm (I stayed during cold days). You can get a fresh towel when you need to change yours. The area is lively but quiet at the same time, full of affordable eateries and shops.

Philstay Ehwa Boutique is very well located. It is on the third floor without an elevator, which is not a big problem, but it’s good to keep in mind if you are carrying heavy luggage, patience and a calm pace help. All the facilities (rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, laundry, and common area) are on the same floor, which makes everything easily accessible, although it also means there can be more movement and noise at certain times. Sometimes the noise from hair dryers used near the rooms can be a bit annoying, although there are restricted hours for their use. Using earplugs and being flexible helps. The kitchen space is quite small and has only one burner, so depending on the time and day, it can be more challenging to use. However, despite these limitations, if you adapt and are patient, this place is truly wonderful. What really makes this guesthouse special is the hospitality and kindness of the staff. The free food stock available for guests (eggs, bread, cereal, milk, juice, coffee, and tea) is amazing and very helpful. I would especially like to highlight the morning staff member (Lee) she was incredibly sweet and caring. On several occasions, she spoiled me with fruits and other Korean snacks. Her warmth reminded me of my mother, and I truly left with my heart full of gratitude for those beautiful gestures. Overall, a lovely place with an amazing human touch that makes you feel at home.

Close to the metro station and bus for the airport, close to places for food

I stayed here for two months. I loved that the bedding was very clean, and the facilities were cleaned well daily. Also, as I was staying for so long, th staff organised it so that I could keep the same bed and didn't have to move my stuff around every few days. Furthermore, the location was excellent. It's walking distance from Hongdae. It's on the L2 subway, which is the circular line that connects a lot of the major central neighbourhoods. It's also in a student area and near Sinchon, so there are lots of affordable restaurants around, too.

The location, the rooms are small, but cozy with a lot of space to store things next to your bed as there’s no space for suitcases in the room. The staff was charming and so helpful! Breakfast included also a great addition.

Breakfast was simple but good :) The place was cozy and clean, perfect when solo traveling or traveling with a friend. It was calm place, not party hostel, which I appreaciated. Location is perfect, near metro station and in the area you can go to multiple restaurants and cloth shopping.

The bathrooms were always clean when I used them. The girls I shared my room with were all very respectful and kind! The staff was super super helpful! Best people I've met at hostels. They treated me like family!

Cubicles were clean, comfortable. Enough showers and toilets. Free breakfast. Nice staff. Free earplugs.

The location is great! It’s less then a 3 minute walk from the metro and bus station and there’s a bus service directly from the airport to Ehwa uni so it was really easy getting there. Self check-in was easy and the dorms had a roller blind so more privacy then a normal hostel which was great. There’s multiple power outlets and also multiple ones in the common area.

Very comfortable beds and bedding, the extra space next to the mattress was handy to keep essentials close by. The breakfast is available until 12pm which was great and you can make eggs, toast and cereal. Excellent location with plenty of shops and eateries around the area and great transport links.

I loved how convenient it was to get to the subway station. The area is a university area (the entrance of Ewha Uni is mere steps away) and so it’s always bustling during the weekdays, so you never feel alone or unsafe. The staff were so nice and I appreciated having access to the free sachets of shampoo and body wash (both were so good! My hair laments that it will never be so beautiful again!) and the daily changes of towel. I also love how safe I felt in the property. No man allowed in and you can just tell all the women there felt the same.

Simple but provided all that are required such as towel, shower gel and shampoo. Laundry can be done. Simple breakfast was also provided. Location is very convenient, close to station.

The hostel is situated in a very nice neighborhood. There is even a small park nearby. Subway and 7-Eleven are very close, as well as cosmetic shops. The manager was really kind and cared about each visitor

“Great”

I loved the hostel, great location, right next to the metro and super clean. The only part I disliked was the lack of respect and human decency from others staying there aswell. Letting the door slam at like 3 am and not caring about anyone else trying to sleep, a few times I was woken up by someone just slamming stuff about early hours in the morning. I also think the hairdryer should be stopped earlier like 11pm, as it is quite loud and wakes you up when you have an early morning. Its not the hostel itself but thought id say if you wanted a quiet place to stay this one isnt it.
