Absolutely loved it. We were lucky enough to be on our own for a night. It felt like living a dream for a moment. It is a mix of history and modern art. We were absolutely taken back by the amazingness of it all.

This magnificent old Castle is all about the experience. After you have to arrive at 17hrs you will have a short tour of the castle giving by the host. Your jaw dropping room awaits you. Antiques and art everywhere. Silence and panoramic views all around. In the morning a quality french breakfast is served in the vaulted dining room. If you love history and respect that, this place is the one for you.

“Magical castle stay”
It was such a privilege to stay at Chateau de Mauriac. The place is steeped in history and has been renovated and decorated with such love, and attention to detail, it really is something special. We loved everything about it, from the tour that introduced us to the castle's history, the owner's father's beautiful artwork, and the incredible views from the top, our amazing room (Chambre Chinois), the bottle of bubbly as thanks for booking for two nights (our pleasure!), and breakfast. Our bed was super comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped (we brought our own dinner the first night just to enjoy the room as much as we could), and for such an old place, everything worked beautifully. Oh and the peace and quiet...

“A spectacular destination for an unforgettable stay”
An absolutely spectacular destination that has to be seen and experienced to be believed. Over the period of several decades, the current owner's father painstakingly restored what was originally a wreck into the most incredible property, with a wealth of astonishing features. Our host Emmanuel, who grew up here, welcomed us with a delightful, informative and entertaining tour of the castle. All the rooms are stunning but we were privileged to stay in the original owners' own bedroom which is simply magnificent, complete with a sumptuous 18th century four-poster bed. This is no ordinary b&b but a magical and unforgettable experience in its own right. It's not every day you are handed the keys of a castle and get to spend the night there in sole charge of such an astonishing building. Worth taking a trip for this alone.

“Lovely stay in an historical place!”
Fantastic place, a beautiful castle where the owner showed us around and told us all about what his family had done to save the castle! Lovely decorated rooms with furniture matching the age of the castle. Comfortable room and beds, lovely breakfast, easy to park. We slept in a room from 1420! Great experience and we would love to go there again.
