Very close to Tazawako Ski resort. Traditional Japanese breakfast which my kids didn't love, but was definitely authentic. There was an onsen in the bathroom. The owner allowed us to use the washing machine.

A kind of family hostel. Hostel owner is very friendly and prepared an amazing dinner for me. And she knew I have to go hiking for next morning, she made an origini for me. The room is cozy and comfortable and had good view.

The stay was excellent, with lovely view of sunset and a glimpse of Lake Tazawa. The room was cozy and amenities, such as a heater, made the stay comfortable. There is sufficient space in the dining area and lounge to chill and relax too. Very inviting vibe. The hosts were friendly and non intrusive. The only issue is one needs a car to have access to this lovely homestay. No convenience stores around, but the hosts are able to prepare both breakfast and dinner. Or you can get your own bento on your way in and there is a microwave oven for use. Cleanliness is tip-top. Room is relatively big. The whole place more than met our expectation. Highly recommended if you drive.

The staff at Radish House were extremely accommodating and friendly during our stay. They had no problem accomodating dietary restrictions and made my partners birthday dinner special. We were their for skiing and the staff offered to drive us each morning and pick us up. Amazing food, great onsen. And dogs :)

Our breakfasts and dinners were all delicious, the rooms were cosy and warm when the heater was on. Close to Tazawako Ski Resort, Check in and check out was easy and quick. Communications were good leading up to check in. Will stay again if planning to go to Tazawako again when in Japan next.

“Wont be back”

The price was cheap and that breakfast and dinner was provided was also good value. UJnfortunately us trying to save some dollars was our downfall.

No fuss and very competitive rate for the area. The host is kind but speaks no English. Use google translate. Well fed by him both dinner and breakfast.

Delicious meals, dinner and/or breakfast. A real local atmosphere, with a bath/onsen in an oldish but comfortable room.

Location, beautiful scenery of the mountains and the lake. Food was excellent and prepared with great care and love, maybe a bit too much food. Love the dog, the owner doesn’t speak English but is very kind.

Great location near the trailhead for hiking Mount Akita-Komagatake. Lots of onsen in the area as well. The main dining room is cozy and atmospheric. They offer small products for sale from their local farm as well. The beds were surprisingly comfortable, and the duvets felt new. The best part was that they allowed us to stay with our dog! They have a twin room specifically for people traveling with pets. We felt welcomed and relaxed the whole time. Would return.

“Rustical Japanese Homestay”

Rustical, but very cosy hotel with a nice host and great food. They even prepared vegetarian meals for us which were delicious. Everything was clean and felt like being in a cozy living room.
