Clean, cozy, very quite surroundings

Greg and Magnea are welcoming and friendly hosts. The guesthouse was full but they still took time to answer questions and show us around. The conservatory is beautiful and a great place to relax in the evening. The kitchen has plenty of crockery and cutlery. We had a very enjoyable stay.

Fantastic stay at the Old School House. We had 2 nights here and Greg & Magnea were very welcoming and helpful. Everything was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Lots of quirky furniture and artwork around the place, and the conservatory/sunroom filled with plants was wonderful 😁

The guesthouse have just been renovated and the rooms are really nice! The winter guarden was excellent! Full of plants and lovely furniture creating a laid back atmosphere. Perfect place to kick back after a day of sightseeing.

A great place to stay outside of Selfoss. The guest kitchen was big and very well set up. It was easy to cook your own dinner and breakfast. Everything was clean and the owners were helpful and friendly.

We very much enjoyed Greg's hospitality. We would like to thank them for welcoming us into their home. The rooms were tastefully decorated. We really recommend staying there!

We received the warmest welcome from Greg when we arrived and felt right at home! The house was decorated so beautifully and the aesthetic was very considered. Everything felt modern and new yet had so much character and we felt super cosy. There were heaps of board games to play in the fabulous shared kitchen area!! Wish we had stayed longer :)

The rooms were decorated so lovely. Even thought it was cold when we stayed- the open greenhouse/shared area was so cute and I can imagine it being lovely in summer. The kitchen was beyond equipped - it had everything you needed and more!

Lovely quiet and secluded location, yet still easily accessible. Perfect spot for our final night in Iceland. Recently renovated to a very high standard, including excellent bathrooms. While the weather wasn't clear when we stayed here I can imagine it would be an excellent place to see the northern lights on a clear night.

A wonderfully renovated old school with clean, cozy rooms, big patio area and big shared kitchen equipped with all necessities. The old school house is hosted by a really nice people - Greg and Magnea and it's located in a beautiful area an hour away from Reykjavik. I only wish we could've stayed longer, definitely a place you could relax at for some time.

The location is amazing out in the peaceful country side but close to a lot of day trip potentials including Selfoss, Reykjavik, lava tunnels and more. The use of the beautiful kitchen is a bonus to save from eating out all the time. The garden/courtyard and hot tub/cold plunge areas are soothing after a long day of activities. This would be an amazing place to hold a retreat or group. When I checked in the Icelandic Roots database I’m related to Magnea, but she and Greg treated me like family before knowing that. Love this place!

The property is really beautiful - the decor is tasteful,warm and friendly. It has a hot tub and a cold plunge and a huge kitchen. There is a garden/conservatory linking the kitchen to the house which is simply wonderful filled with amazing plants with lots of seating. It is nothing like anywhere else we have stayed and stands out from the rest of the accommodation available in Iceland.

The rooms are cozy, well maintained and equipped. Beds are superb. The kitchen and sitting area offer room for homely interaction with other guests. No dinner or breakfast but this is known beforehand. A very relaxed place to start your golden circle adventure! Take some supplies with you. There are fridges at the hotel and a supermarket 15 minutes away.

A beautifully charming remodeled old building with perfectly decorated rooms at a peaceful location. The owners are very welcoming and helpful. We also appreciated the kitchen we could use despite a late arrival .
