“Get away from it all!”
The flat was very spacious and sparkling clean. The bed was huge and comfortable. The bathroom was good and the shower was easy to use. It was nice and cosy with effective heating. Check in was easy, we met at the Brockenbäcker Café, about 500m walk, to get the code for the key safe. Had the famous Brockentorte there, highly recommended! There is a handy supermarket that also serves food and hot drinks about 400m walk from the flat, opposite the supermarket is the Tourist Information, who were very helpful. Schierke's famous schnapps, Schierker Feuerstein, is made directly opposite from the flat!! The shop is great and we bought quite a few gifts. There is a lovely park opposite the flat to walk the dog and you can start hiking straight from your accommodation. We walked up the Brocken, which was a challenge and unfortunately, due to heavy mist, visibility was zero. There is a minitiature steam railway you can take to go up the Brocken and it looks like the Hogwarts Express! We also used the free bus pass that is part of you paying 'Kurtaxe' of 3 Euros per day per person. We took the bus to Wernigerode, what a gorgeous town! Like out of a fairy tale. We enjoyed our time in the 'Ostharz' and would recommend it to anyone who wants to get away from it all.

The location is good , and keys have to be collected at the bakery 400 meters further from the rooms. The host was very kind once i could reach her.There is a city tax for 3 Euros per person per day extra.The wifi password is written in the red information booklet.

Very well situated right in the town centre, supermarket nearby, easy access to public transport, very good starting point for hiking the mountains. Very clean and comfortable.

great location, very friendly and helpful staff, very clean and the kitchen is well equipped. The bakery downstairs is the best cakes and Brötchen!
