What a wonderful place on earth! We had an amazing time at Taipaleenniemi and really enjoyed their hospitality. Great breakfast, delicious available dinner, sauna right at the waterfront, evenings at the lake where the sun tickles your face. Nothing more to wish for.

This is an incredibly beautiful B&B in a magical location. The husband and wife team gave us such a warm welcome. Apart from our spacious room with its very comfortable bed, the mesmerizingly beautiful views and setting on the lake, we loved the tranquillity and good vibes of the accommodation. In a cosy, very pretty Finnish style, the breakfast room is light, bright and just gorgeous with a fabulous breakfast buffet to match. An excellent buffet dinner is offered at the family's other gorgeous B&B close by (Lomamokkila). This is an exceptional B&B, one of the very best we have ever experienced and exceeded all our expectations. If looking for accommodation near Savonlinna, don't miss this piece of paradise!

Excellent breakfast. Marvleous hosts. <although the dinner was some 12 kms from our accommodation in Lomamokki it was all worth the drive. The dinner was excepptionally tasty, although simple straight forward Finnish "kotiruoka". The youngish chef needs a commendation for his work. He also briefed us thoroughly the menu.I will visit again.

Great location -particularly for the Savonlinna opera and boat trips to the natural park to see the rare Saimaa ringed seals. Wonderful to experience traditional finish architecture, Lakefront with a lovely garden for the summer. Best to have your own car.

Loved everything. The location with a sauna next to a lake, comfort of the rooms, quality of breakfast, kindness of the hosts, access to a kitchen with our own shelf in the fridge. Peace and quiet but with national parks and interesting places to visit nearby.

“perfect place”

Brilliant place on the shore of Lake Saima. lovely old house and grounds. modern annex with several pleasant spacious rooms. we swam in the lake. delightful couple own it. you can take a rowing boat out for free or hire bicycles. All the baked goods, rolls, bread, cakes, savoury flan at breakfast were homemade. they own another property 10 km away where they serve a buffet supper at 5.30 pm four days per week in the opera season and 6pm at other times. everything on the buffet was delicious and home cooked. among the best meals we had in Finland. 15 km from Savonlinna with castle and other attractions (boat cruises, museums, market etc) and also 20 km from beautiful National Park reached by boat from Oravi with 8km of marked hiking paths. info centre in Oravi did nice food too.

Beautiful surroundings and was great having a lake right at the back. Very quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was very tasty

incredibly nice B&B in a location directly at the Lake Saimaa that is even more beautiful than the pictures suggest. Great host, great breakfast, by far the best B&B during our trip to Finland.
