“I enjoyed staying here a lot and I recommend staying and booking jungle tours here.”

The couple running the place are very caring and helpful, they made me feel like being part of the family. Their tours are also very well arranged, great guides and very good communication. The rooms are basic but a good budget option. If you’re lucky you can see a rhino pass by on the front street and the property is home to many different birds which creates a lovely orchestra in the morning.

“Incredible insight into the jungle and kind people!”

We got Tara’s guesthouse recommended by fellow hikers, and the place was everything we hoped for and more! It’s family driven, and you really feel welcome from the moment you step into Tara’s. The host are so nice and you’re assured to get a very personal and thorough experience of the jungle. Viki took us on a bike ride the day we arrived which was a great way to explore the bird life of the forest. We also spotted lots of deer, a wild boar, a huge snake and monkeys, and visited the most beautiful lake. Tara’s also serve the best breakfast we had during our 1 month in Nepal! Both the Lassi, pancake and yoghurt were so delicious We really recommend doing the two day jungle hike offered by Tara’s. You really get a feeling of the jungle with all the animal traces, plants, smells and sounds, that couldn’t have been achieved in a jeep. We also really enjoyed the canoe ride on the crocodile-filled river. Our guides were incredible and really new the jungle by heart. We stayed at a home stay near a river with a really nice atmosphere that gave a great insight into the life of the locals. We weren’t fortunate enough to see a tiger but instead got the experience of walking in its trail, following fresh foot prints. We also had a stay in a jungle tower, which was such a wonderful experience! We were quite lucky and saw both a wild elephant crossing the river plus multiple rhinos only 5 meters away. The atmosphere in the tower as the jungle slowly changed from day to night and then back in the morning, was such a nice experience. Our guide (Namin) was so kind, patient and knowledgeable, he took time to point out all the birds of the forest. We cannot recommend enough to stay at Tara’s guesthouse!

Beautiful clean guesthouse, lovely nature filled garden, rhinos often walk past. Guesthouse has amazing food and offers jungle trekking, canoe, and safari and bird watching. Great owners, stayed over 2 weeks and will come back again

Amazing stay in Tara Guesthouse. The family is incredibly nice and always happy to help or tho share. It was so nice to stay there. And you don't feel that Sauhara is touristic when you are at their guesthouse.

The warm family atmosphere, comfortable rooms with great showers, excellent food. The family will go the extra mile to help with anything you need. Rhinos sometimes walked past the guesthouse!

Everyone here was so lovely and kind! I felt comfortable as soon as I arrived and it was peaceful and quiet. I booked a safari through the guesthouse and had the best time doing three days, two nights jungle safari! I couldn’t recommend this place more!

Such a special place to stay. Spent a really nice time getting to know the family, going out on tours with Vicky, listening to Tara's stories about the old days in Chitwan, and eating delicious food. Really feels like a home away from home. Location is a bit further out of town but the family found me me a bicycle to get around which was perfect.

“Amazing”

Do not hesitate to stay here. It is really nice and for a great price. The rooms are spacious and comfortable enough. Would definately recommend to book your safari here. We really enjoyed the kano, walking and jeep safari and it was expertly organised. The food was delicious and again everything is for a great price!

“Wish I could have stayed longer!”

Great stay in Tara guesthouse for visiting Chitwan national park. I only stayed there for two nights but I really wished I could have stayed longer. Since the very first moment I arrived they were super friendly and helped me to organise a full day hike and canoeing in the national park. I had to worry about nothing and I spent a very special and unforgettable day inside the national park with very professional guides with a lot of knowledge about the wild and the park. I also spent a very good time there in the evening by the fire just talking and sharing. They made me really feel home :). Besides the food they cooked for me was very good. I really want to come back one day and spend more time there and I recommend it to everyone!

“A calm oasis near Sauraha with great food and lovely people”

Tara's Guesthouse is located a little away from the village of Sauraha - a calm place to really enjoy the atmosphere of the more rural area... and spot some elefants and rhinos on the road walking by ;) A lovely garden, great people and amazing food! Vicki was a great help organizing a jungle walk, an overnight-stay in a tower in the jungle, we went biking and walked around the area. I felt at home and would come back for the food alone - if it wasn't for the amazing people we met - thanks again Vicki for the great few days we had the pleasure of staying with you and your family!

“Super peaceful”

The place was super clean, peaceful and comfortable. Ran by a lovely family whose cooking was amazing and they were so helpful in sorting our activities for Chitwan. Our two guides for the jungle walk (Ramesh and Sandruck) were absolutely lovely and very informative.

Amazing guesthouse!! The room was very very clean and confortable. The owner were amazing. The place is very nice, the also offer a nice food... 100% recommended!!

“Amazing value for money”

A great guesthouse for backpackers with amazing value for money, good food, good bear and helpful staff who helped us book a bus back to Kathmandu, arranged a taxi and made us packed lunch for our walking safari.

Owner of hotel is very helpful and treat like family.food was like same as home.even one was very kind and hope to visit again next time

“Lovely stay!”

Very good location, outside of city center but still closeby at a walking distance. Lovely staff, they can help with organizing tour. Room and facilities were good overall. I felt really relax. Nice place :)

Very friendly staff. Food was good with friendly prices. They have really good guides who can take you on some really amazing walks in the jungle. I recommend minimum going for a 2 day junglewalk. Was really amazing with so many animals everywhere, including the tiger!

In Tara guesthouse I found a real family who made me feel like home! The place is gorgeous. I had a huge room and bathroom with hot water, fan, mosquito net and fantastic views, from the balcony. Everything is very clean and you also have a tropical garden to relax and to eat as they also serve delicious homemade food. They can arrange for you all kind of trips in the jungle as well as bus tickets except the elephant ride which obviously is UNETHICAL and we don' t support it. All the above in the best price and with plenty of love! I will be back to Chitwan very soon and one reason is to meet again those wonderful people.
