“Best place to stay”

We stayed here with my friend during our trip to Sauraha and booked two rooms. Everything about this place was amazing. The pool was always very clean and incredibly pleasant. They serve the best masala chai we had during our travels, and the homemade food was absolutely delicious. Raj was incredibly kind and helpful, he drove us around town multiple times whenever we needed help getting somewhere. When my friend got sick, the whole family took such good care of us. They kept making fresh ginger tea for her and were genuinely caring and attentive the entire time. Raj booked us a great safari and jungle walk experience. He was like a good friend of us, we didn’t feel this place is a hotel. It’s a place run by a wonderful family who truly pay attention to every detail and make you feel at home. Honestly, this was the best accommodation experience of my entire 4-month journey. Highly recommended.

Shiva’s Hippies Colony is a great place—nestled between lush rice terraces, with a refreshing pool. Best of all are Raj and the family who run this homestay: incredibly welcoming and kind. They provided us with lots of information about tours and great food. It’s not as far from town as it looks: about 15–20 minutes on foot or five minutes by bike, which Raj provides for free. We were even picked up from the bus station at no extra cost—without us having mentioned we were arriving by bus. That really sums up the care and hospitality Raj and his wife show their guests.

The staff was very helpful, everything was just as described, and the atmosphere was wonderful—I highly recommend it.

The manager is a very kind and helpful person who was able to assist us with practically everything—from minor issues to contacting the local airline office. The staff were very friendly and cheerful. You can relax, eat, drink, and unwind by the pool. The rooms were very clean, and everything was exactly as listed in the amenities section of the description. Wonderful atmosphere—you feel taken care of. I highly recommend it.

Everything! The swimming pool, the room, the comfortable bed and of course the host - Raj. Always friendly and super helpful. Will defenitely stay here again when coming back to Chitwan. It is located a little outside of town but Raj will bring you if you want.

The pool

Lovely property in a peaceful location. Staff were excellent and really helpful. They helped us book a safari for the day after we arrived which was brilliant with very knowledgeable guides. They also picked us up and dropped us off at the bus stop. Really friendly service and the room was clean and with good facilities.

Good location on the outskirts of town.

Rasj and his family are amazing. They are really helpful and kind. They cook extraordinary food, really tasty. The place is comfortable, nice and big rooms, with aircon. Place surrounded by rice paddies, wonderful place. And with swimming pool.

Raj and his family were so hospitable, went out of their way to help and make sure we had a good time. Lovely people. The pool was perfect for the heat and the location just outside of town was so peaceful. Loved going around on the (free) bikes

We had a great time at hippie colony! Raj is super nice and accommodating. He helped us get tickets for the Tharu cultural show. The pool and outside area are great! And you can ask for AC in your room.

The location is lovely – peaceful and surrounded by rice fields, yet still within walking distance into the center of Sauraha. Our host was absolutely fantastic: he took care of everything – from organizing all our Chitwan National Park tours to arranging and booking our bus rides, including pick-up and drop-off. What made a big difference is that he used to work as a guide in the park himself. He has tons of experience and great connections with other guides, so he was able to help us choose the right tours tailored to our interests. The room was very comfortable and clean, and the pool was perfect for cooling off after a full day walking through the jungle. We felt completely at ease – a clear recommendation for anyone wanting to explore Chitwan in a relaxed and well-organized way!

Raj and his family are very welcoming , they prepared us good food and made us feel like home. Raj helped us book any activities we wanted during our stay and was always there for questions . The place is located between rice fields and has a swimming pool, it is the perfect place to relax after a hot day in the jungle!

I love that the location is in a rural setting yet just a lovely 10 minute walk into town following the road that the elephants take.

Shiva's hippies colony is an oasis not just in chitwan but all over nepal. Proper swimming pool, comfortable beds, in nature yet walking distance from sauraha. The service is spot on, Rajendra and his team will ensure you have an unforgettable experience, could not recommend more!
