Location was perfect, very close to the station so it was easy to get into Paris. Also loved the living room and the couch. We were with 9 in total, we brought our own matrasses for the last 2.

We arrived to a very clean and welcoming house of some charm and character in a quiet, well-maintained residential area. The house is nicely set back from the street, with its own locked gates and space for parking. It's close to the station for trips into Paris and to the shops and restaurants around the square - La Crêperie de la gare was especially good. The living room was particularly comfortable - big sofa, lots of cushions, small tables - perfect for relaxing. We were there for a week, so found it very useful that there was a new washer-drier in the basement. The kitchen has a large dishwasher, hob and oven and there is plenty of crockery, cutlery and glassware. As others have mentioned, the house feels partly modernised with the modern blue and white contrasting with a sixties/seventies feel to the kitchen and bathroom - but that doesn't detract from its comfort. We enjoyed our time there.

“Perfect for a stop over to visit Paris if travelling by car in France”

I chose this house for it's location so the fact we loved it was a bonus. We were travelling by car and this house provided secure parking behind a locked gate, a 10 minute walk to the train station at Sartrouville with travel on the RER to the Arc de Triomphe in 15 minutes and Chatelet les Halles in 20 minutes. At the station each morning we purchased a ticket which gave unlimited access to metro and RER for 12 euros. The house is detached and in a leafy suburb of Paris. The house is typically French and we loved it. The kitchen has only been partially modernised as you can tell from the photos, but it does what the name suggests and adds to the charm of the house. The oven and fridge are new and we ate at the house on 3 nights out of the 4 we stayed here. There is an enormous hypermarket 5 minutes drive from the house. The lounge area and dining area is a pleasant part of the house and with huge windows both sides of the house it was cool even in hot weather. There is a toilet on the ground floor and a double bedroom. Although not a problem for us, the stair case to the first floor is narrow and spirals and the bathroom was on the first floor. Also on the first floor is a fairly large single room and another double room and a landing area with a desk. These rooms are in the roof so have sloping ceilings; all part of the charm but something to be aware of if you are very tall. To sum up the house I would say that it has been modernised enough so that it is a very pleasant place to stay and nothing that is left of the original house would put you off staying there. It was a whole new experience staying outside Paris and catching the RER into the centre, but I now don't think we will ever just visit Paris for a few days again as a single trip and add this house to our list of regular stop off points as we travel south or east. With a washing machine and line to dry clothes in the cellar it is perfect for those travelling on to further destinations.
