“The best stay of my Pyrenees trip – unforgettable experience”

This was the best stay during my 7-day Pyrenees journey. The view from the terrace was absolutely stunning, with gentle green mountains stretching into the distance. Both the sunset and sunrise were breathtaking, and I even enjoyed working on my laptop from the terrace. Breakfast looked simple at first, but every bite was incredibly delicious — especially the cheese, ham, yogurt, honey, and juice. I even asked the staff about the cheese they served and went to buy it at the local shop. The room was decorated with Basque-style coverings, and even the tableware reflected the Basque tradition, which made the atmosphere very special. There was nothing negative about this stay. I would love to return again!

The view from the rooms was great and we really appreciated the air conditioning in the rooms. The breakfast buffes was also very good - it even included glutenfree bread. The hotel is in a very quite and nice part of town - about 15 minutes from the town center. It's a great place to stay if you hike - as we did - along the GR 10.

Superb location, and we had a room with a covered terrace looking across the hills. All very comfortable. Dinner was excellent, and breakfast very good.

“Fantastic hotel, with amazing restaurant”

Most gorgeous traditional Basque half-timbered property. Staff absolutely delightful. Room spotless and had everything we needed. Extensive buffet breakfast for only €10, restaurant food so delicious we had the set menu (€25) every night for our 3 night stay: exceptionally fresh and healthy 3 course meals, with unsurpassable meat or fish as main course - 'variations de boeufs' was 3 different cuts of beef. We practically liicked our plates every time. Location is on the outskirts (10 mins walk) of a very pretty traditional village with cafés, restaurants and 2 or 3 interesting little shops. The stall in the main square sells 'gateaux basques' to die for. We used as a base for walking (La Rhune peak 16 km round trip or can take little rack rail train) and visiting prehistoric caves.

The hotel is great! You can feel it’s not new but everything is maintained just perfectly. Staff seemed really nice and spoke in english. Also, the hotel is dog friendly and they do not charge extra for a dog!

Charming hamlet, close to Sare, with lovely old Basque houses, a pretty and convenient location. They had a good chef and dinners were well presented..

The view from our room was glorious. Although the chef was having a day off there was still a well prepared evening meal.

Best welcome of any hotel we have used and we use dozens per year. The lady who welcomed us, Eztitxu, was lovely. We received a tradional welcome glass of wine on the house. Eztitxu's English was excellent and helped us with menus, drinks and history of the Basque region. The hotel is spotless, our room was big and comfortable with an amazing walk-in shower. The restaurant food is excellent - I am difficult to please but the veal dish was so perfect with the vegetables and ham crisps that I ate it all and probably consider it one of the best restaurant dishes of my life!!! This hotel is rated 2 stars but that is a mean score - we would give it a minimum of 4. We liked tge hotel so much we changed our travel plans to include another night there on our way home.

hospitality, how people that work here try to make your stay comfortable, tasty, pleasant and nice. HUGE compliment to the young and gorgeous lady who host us, and arranged everything from the room to the restaurant and menu introduction oh and btw bed are were comfy and food is delicious and the view is gorgeous, and they have cats! what else do you need!
