“Lovely location, great host.”

The Eco Guest House is located in the owners estate. The chalet type accommodation had the living area and bathroom downstairs whilst the upstairs there is one bedroom with a queen bed and two single beds. The setting is absolutely wonderful for nature lovers. We did a bird touring with Wendy(the host) which was great and without her we wouldn't have spotted many of the birds. The balconies are great to sit and relax in and enjoy the bird life.

Breakfast and dinner prepared by Rita and brought to our vacation home were excellent!

“Wonderful place!”

We loved everything! I won't repeat what others have said...only that I agree wholeheartedly! Wasn't able to meet Wendy but did meet her lovely mum. It was lovely that she brought our dinner and breakfast to our villa. We would have liked to have explored more but without Wendy there it was difficult to know where we could or shouldn't go. I would have loved to have taken the tour...instead we were recommended a local tour. We had just experienced an amazing one so we weren't sure...we then found out it was the same tour with the same guide! It was just as amazing the 2nd time round!

The location was fantastic, remote but still close to town. The garden is really impressive. The house was very nice, plenty of space and 2 terraces with magnificent views. The host Wendy is really helpful. She is so kind. We also had dinner and breakfast prepared by her mother. Let me say that this was one of the best experiences we had. The food was so fresh, delicious and there was plenty. Thanks to Wendy we also found the waterfall located at their neighbor Carlos. Carlos showed us his trees full of monkey. The waterfall was really magnificent! A hidden gem! The same goes for this location and guesthouses!

“Living with birds”

This is a big house in the forest, very clean. We saw soo many birds here (macaw, toucan...) There is a beautiful waterfall near this place (25min walk:. And Wendy was very helpful.

“Amazing wooden Eco house with option of tasty excellent meals”

Amazing wooden eco house set in lovely surroundings. Slept really well in the large bedroom. Woke up to the sound of howler monkeys. There is a choice of four verandas to sit on to watch the wildlife and be amongst nature. The Eco house is well equipped with kichen and dining area to sit in. We decided to opt for dinner and breakfast. Both prepared by the owner's mother and they were amazing. So delicious and you don't go hungry. This was a return visit for us and we are so glad we came back. Good location for our last night in Costa Rica as just 70km from San Jose airport.

“Family paradise”

Wendy’s place is incredible, a beautiful house, private and surrounded by nature. The nights were with perfect temperature and you sleep with the sound of nature, something we needed to get accustomed with. But we had the best sleep for 4 nights! We booked the full experience with breakfast and dinners brought dearly by Wendy’s mom, who was a bit like our mom too. If you speak a bit of spanish, this will stay as your favorite memory of the house, like for us. The waterfall of the neighbour’s property is also superb and had it just for us, is bigger than it looks on photos! We also saw some toucans from the balcony and hummingbirds. A little paradise we recommend to everyone.

“Splendid!”

The location was superb. Nice (several) balconies where you can watch beautiful birds. Lot of space in the house. Wendy is a very friendly host who can give you recommendations for the area. Het mom makes wonderful breakfast and diner 😃 You can book a massage at her sister’s!

Wendy was really helpful, lots of advice and organised a great white water rafting trip. Extra for breakfast was worth it!

“Peaceful rainforest stay”

Beautiful, peaceful lodge. The sounds of the rainforest to sleep and wake up to. Wendy and family are fantastic hosts. Food, massages and all tours were exceptional 👌

“Amazing!”

We had a fantastic stay (including 2 kids of 5 and 8y old) with Wendy and her family. Very friendly family. The mother of Wendy cooked a fantastic diner and breakfast. We did the horse riding and frog tour. Both were amazing! Would defenitly come back here.

Lovely venue. Wendy is a wonderful host with lots of useful information but who values your privacy. A great peaceful location with wonderful wildlife.

Location in nature and host, Wendy, was a lovely informative lady. I recommend the bird watching tour and the White water rafting with Green Rivers was excellent. You must also do the 20 min walk to Poza Azul waterfall (the dogs will guide you there!) which is stunning.

Really enjoyed this house - breakfast served by Wendy’s mama was delicious and an highlight of the trip!! The house is accessible by car but then isolated and so peaceful. You can hear all nature around and observe birds anytime. Nice furniture (bed, kitchen, balconies…). I highly recommend!

“Be immersed in nature and kindness”

This place is different. It is very special. It is off the beaten track and very simple. But it is beautiful and filled with love. The house is quite big and built all out of wood. Many of the windows don’t have glass but have very useful mosquito screening. This means you are much closer to nature and especially its sounds. There are fantastic birds in the area. You can hear the howler monkeys but we didn’t see them. There are three big terraces to watch the forest from and to just sit on these is a healing experience in itself One of the dogs will take you a beautiful waterfall in a very ancient site. It’s true, you are led by the dog! Wendy and her Mum look after you. The Mum brings your meals to your house and they are served with such tenderness and devotion. You are made to feel very special. Wendy is very knowledgeable about the local eco system and takes great care of it. If you like smart hotels that are all the same, this is not the place for you. But if you want to be cared for, immerse yourself gently in nature and lower your heart rate and blood pressure, and perhaps hear some niggling internal questions about what matters most to you in life, then this is the place for you!

Beautiful location in the forest. House had 2 balconies and 2 porches providing excellent birdwatching. Wendy is a very knowledgeable guide and provided excellent birding and night hikes.

My husband and I loved the privacy of staying in a rustic house on a private property. We were able to order home-cooked meals that were delivered and served to us without having to leave the premises. Birds everywhere and a beautiful hike down to an awesome waterfall topped off the experience (see pics). Thank you, Wendy and family!
