“Amazing host and room”

Incredibly friendly host. Will was helpful and attentive, we enjoyed chatting to him about his life and Sao Luis. He even let us leave our bags for a few hours after check in so we didn’t have to haul them around the old town before leaving We had the en suite room and all facilities were perfect - clean, big tv, nice shower, comfy beds Close to the historic centre

Very friendly host, and the room was spotless. We stayed for one night only and shared the toilet; however, the cleanliness of the space was outstanding. The bed and bedroom were also both comfortable.

Will is a great host and full of helpful information including things such as restaurants, reggae and rainbow bars. He speaks English and very communicative on WhatsApp before and during my stay. They even did my laundry. This is a great opportunity to stay in a local style house in a local neighbourhood. However the location and style might not be good for nervous or high end travellers. Will has a well stocked fridge with water and beers to enjoy on the small internal patio. You must use Uber at night and all the drivers are great - they find the address easy and stop right at the front gate then wait until you are safely inside the gate.

The host Will and his family (the pousada is on the upper floor inside the family home) are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The pousada is clean. We had a shared bathroom, which was also nice and clean. The pousada is within a few minutes of a supermercado and other local shops. We did not use the kitchen, but we could eventhough it is also the family kitchen. The bed is comfortable.

Clean, confi and great Will

We only stayed one night but Will and his family were so warm and wonderful. We really couldn't have asked for more. Will gave us recommendations for the area and chatted with us for some time, sharing his wonderful background as to why he speaks fluent French. Will's Dad got up very early to wait with us for our bus transfer because he wanted to make sure we got on it safely. Will's mum warmly greeted us each time we saw her. What a special family.

We had an amazing time at Will's house. Will is a very welcoming host and he will make sure you will feel at home. His family is also very nice. The whole house is clean and the room is comfortable. We were happy to spend time there and would come back again! During the day you can walk to the historic center which is about 15/20min and there is a huge supermarket 2 blocks away.

“An excellent stay in a historic city”

Definitely the best place to stay in Sao Luis, especially for foreigners willing to explore the area. The host is incredibly helpful, sociable, and caring, and an outstanding organizer of tours and other activities. He speaks excellent French and English, like virtually noone else in the country. :) The accommodation is very clean, nicely decorated, well organized and gives a unique opportunity to stay in an authentic, family-like setting in a place very close to the historic center of Sao Luis.

We had our own room with a private bathroom. Everywhere was very clean and Will and his family were friendly and welcoming. Will speaks very good French and English, which was helpful for us as we only started learning Portuguese a couple of months ago. Will proposed a tour to the Lençois Maranhenses which we went on and enjoyed very much. We had a good stay in a family home.

Will and his family are warm, kind, affable people who made my stay a beautiful experience. They welcomed me into their exceptionally clean home and ensured I was happy and comfortable in my room. The room has a shared bathroom attached with individual doors which meant I did not have to leave my room to use it. Shower is very clean, spacious and powerful. Toilet smells lovely and very clean too.There is a fridge outside the room and use of the kitchen facilities. Will is very hospitable and knowledgeable of the things to do and see. He kindly pointed out the local market, places to visit, nice restaurants and bars in the location. I loved: Will's beautiful family and home, spotless home throughout, felt safe in the home and the area, perfect  location with huge market at the top of the road, gym around the corner, walking distance to everything including the cathedrals and large supermarket and about 20mins by Uber to get to the airport. Would definitely stay again and would recommend.

Will and his family were extremely welcoming. We felt very comfortable around them and wished our Portuguese would have been better to communicate with them. Will speaks good English and was very helpful (:
