“Excellent, excellent, excellent!”

The owner (Luca) and his partner (Jose) were extremly helpful. They gave us all of the necessary informaton we could hire a car directly from the hotel (we picked up the Jimny at the airport and we gave it back also there) and they organized the fishing tour too. The bungalow was spacious with a big balcony (great view of the jungle) and bathroom (hot water is OK). The on site restaurant has (mostly) nice food and the prices are reasonable. The hotel's location is ideal to discover Sao Tome Island (but a car is mandatory... there is parking also)! Thank you Luca & Jose! We really, really enjoyed our stay in Casa Cantagalo!

“Well organized, friendly staff, no mosquitoes, clean basic rooms and good position.”

Josè & Luca were super friendly and always available to answer all our many questions with patience and assist us during our trip. I stayed with with my family & friends, there are bungalows surrounded by greenery and rooms by the restaurant. We rented two rooms by the restaurant and we slept very well: the rooms have mirrored glass windows & curtains so people cannot see inside your room, also it was not noisy, because it gets dark very early people tend to go to bed rather early as well, the location is pleasantly breezy and the aircon works very well and there were surprisingly few mosquitoes, no mosquitoes in the rooms at all, because they all have nets. We were also happy to have rented the Pajero 4x4 car from Casa Cantagalo directly as it is not uncommon to get a flat tyre in the São Tomé road in general, and Josè and the staff were available to fix our car promptly. The car rental fee is not cheap but was totally worth it. The breakfast was good ( fresh omelettes, fresh fruit, bread, hot drinks ), all staff super friendly, just take it easy because the service is a bit slow in general ( on the whole island ). Very clean basic rooms with comfortable bed, good water pressure in the shower, the restaurant was OK for us, menu a bit repetitive but very handy and convenient to have it there as we were tired in the evening from all our explorations and did not feel like going out a lot at night. It is lovely to hang out on the terrace for drinks and the atmosphere is relaxed & friendly it was easy to socialize with fellow guests. I'll certainly be back !

The staff was very kind, breakfast very diverse. The room was very clean, it has AC and beds were extremely comfy. Very well located, 10min drive to Praia Sete Ondas and Micondo.

The waiting staff were very friendly and helpful despite not knowing any English. The owners are nice and friendly and helpful too. The breakfast was lovely. They had great variety. The size of the room was good. The views were beautiful.

Comfortable beds, spacious rooms conveniently furnished and decorated. The owners paid attention to the small details making the stay pleasant, both in the restaurant and in the hotel parts. Outstanding view in the terrace, facing hills and mountains.

Really nice rooms (take AC!) and even better restaurant; great place to stay for a short stop on the way, as we did, or a few days

Staff & food.

The staff is friendly and helped to organise an excursion. The room had airconditioning (when electricity worked). It was good to be able to pay with visa. The view of the restaurants terrace is like on the pictures.
