Close to the beach, nice staff, kitchen and fridge available for use. AC and bed curtains. There were activities in the evening, but I only stayed one night, so I didn't take part in any of them. The breakfast is very good. (Eggs, bread, Coffee, lemonade and fruits)

Amazing location, just on the main square and close to bars/restaurants and the seaside walk. Nice chill environment with a small but clean pool, some sun chairs and a well equipped kitchen. Good breakfast.

Very good value for money. the layout of the hostel makes it very social, and the location is very good. possibly the best hostel in Santa Marta.

“so convenient, just loved my stay and stayed for another week”

I was staying in the hostel for two weeks because everything was convenient and i really liked it: - comfortable beds which were as a capsule and give you a lot of privacy - big lockers and a lot of space in general to store your luggage - the woman who cleans in the morning is the best! Always with a smile on her face, having fun while working - possibility to hang wet bikinis etc. - bathrooms separate from the dorms which is a big plus at night - well equipped kitchen with a lot of space to store your food in the fridge - nice and clean pool - area to chill at the pool and outside the dorm to meet people - great, central location - fast laundry service - great service for the price including breakfast as well

“Amazing gem in the historical centre of Santa Marta”

My second home away from home 🏠 If you’re looking for a chill place with friendly vibes, amazing staff, good wifi and big kitchen, this place has it all. Enough space for everyone, good breakfast and if you don’t want to cook - yummiest lunch, which also caters to vegetarians - thanks to beautiful soul Elvis. República is also one of the cleanest hostels I‘ve ever been to. Mari and Luz are working nonstop to keep it that way, always with a smile and a big heart and open ear, to keep this space spotless clean. There are a few activities throughout the week to keep you busy, be it Karaoke, Pub Crawls, Game nights or bike tours. And if you just need a quiet place to work, no worries. Wifi is good, the music throughout the day is kept at a minimum level and there are enough tables so that everyone can find a place. The pool is wonderful and very well maintained and cleaned every day. Thank you, wonderful people of República: Mari, Luz, Edu, Alan, Oreio, Luis Ángel, Elvis y todos los demás. 🙏

“Chill out hostel with comfy beds”

Love the chill Caribbean vibes and hammocks. Location is great (close to the beach) and staff are super nice. I liked that they didn’t charge for storing luggage so long as you stay again.

“Great hostel with chill vibes”

Very friendly and helpful staff. Cool hostel with chill vibes, a pool in the centre, surrounded by rooms. Breakfast included, affordable rates. Everything is clean. Aircon in the rooms made it very comfortable. Decent showers. Even the 12 and 14 bed dorms are quit with their honeycomb structure beds. Checkout at 12 let's you relax in the mornings. Stayed here twice and would definitely come back.
