“Lovely stay with amazing view”

Incredible views - the best we had seen in our 3 weeks around the lake. The family are so lovely. Breakfast was amazing each day. Room was spacious and comfortable. Price was reasonable too.

“A peaceful retreat”

I loved our private room in the heart of the upper village. The scenery from the rooftop is amazing. Restaurants and fruit shops are nearby. The breakfasts were delicious, and the host family is so welcoming. .

“Amazing homestay”

This is simply an amazing homestay. A big room with a private rooftoop to see the sunset and sunrise. Everything is perfectly clean! The included breakfast is delicious and everyday something new - amazing. Finally, Roberto and his family is very nice and supportive but they also leave your private space. 10/10

A great experience with a local family! Una experiencia genial con los locales!

We simly loved our stay here! It was amazing to live with a local family for a couple of days. Juanita and Roberto are super lovely and caring. We had great conversations and really felt like home. Everyday we were served a super delicious breakfast. The room (or studio) is very spacious, very nicely decorated and comes with a provate bathroom, lake views and a private rooftop terrace with lake views. The house is located in the village, uphill from the lancha terminal but can easily be reached by a quick tuk tuk ride or a 20 min walk. Honestly, this was my favorite place to stay in all of central america! Cannot recommend it enough! Thank you so much, Juanita and Roberto! ❤️

The view of the terrasse would have been amazing if there was no fog The breakfast was great and the lady was very detail oriented and super nice. The moustiquaire above the bed was apreciable Easy accessible with a tuk-tuk

Clean, cheap, quiet location. You get bathroom and even a walk-in-closet for yourself

We really enjoyed our stay at Posada Del Viajero, we felt welcomed and enjoyed seeing the village. The breakfast was delicious and views from the terrace were amazing.

You do have a private bathroom and Wi-Fi!! Such a beautiful view of the lake and both volcanoes from the rooftop! Delicious traditional breakfast every morning cooked by the host. At the top of the hill a few restaurants around so you don’t have to go back down the hill. Spacious room with private access to the roof! Would definitely recommend staying here if you want to see how the locals live and have beautiful views!

“Lovely comfortable accommodation high up on a hill”

This accommodation was wonderful, the room is spacious with big windows, bed with bug net, a closet, separate shower and toilet, both very clean, and of course the rooftop seating. We enjoyed the sunset up there, overlooking the city. The breakfast was amazing, our host was always smiling and very helpful. The entire house is comfortable and clean. I would recommend it.

“Perfect stay for the most authentic feel of Santa Cruz and Lake Atitlan”

The accommodation was just perfect! Definitely one of our best stays in Guatemala so far. It’s location is a bit uphill, which we preferred because that way your are further from the noise of the dock and it gave us a nice feel of what living in town of Santa Cruz is like, including the very musical church services after working hours. If you don’t like walking uphill then there’s always the option of taking a tuctuc for a ride. Breakfast was the best, specially cooked for us by the host in the morning at a preferred time, as you are the only one at the accommodation. Unlimited coffee and tea included. The host herself is also lovely! She made sure we had everything we needed and was interested in our stay at Lake Atitlan and in Guatemala overall. Facilities were one of the cleanest we’ve had, with only the shower having specific instructions for hot water but working just fine. Every morning we would enjoy the sunrise from up our own private terrace above the room, with spectacular views of the lake. Even the vulcanos of Acatenango and the Fuego were visible on clear days, including eruptions! (look behind the far left corner of the lake when on the terrace) The location is also 2 minutes walking from one of the best restaurants on Lake Atitlan, Cafe Sabor, with some of the most delicious authentic dishes. The biological restaurant Nimajay, next to Cafe Sabor, was also very nice.

It was a beautiful, local Place. You live in a house with a beautiful Guatemalan couple. Johanita will serve you huge and tasty breakfast and the room is very comfortable with a phrnomenal lake view. You can even book cooking/artesanal classes or tours with them. (Cooking class will be in their own kitchen) Read the description for localization! It’s on google maps as well- knock on the door, they’ll put up a sign as well. Cause it’s new everything is super clean and beautiful.
