“Peaceful and calm place to stay for a few nights, away from the city.”

It was our first night in Nicaragua, we’d just crossed the border and the manager helped us with arranging a shuttle (who also got us across the border quicker). The staff were warm, kind and helpful, they made a special vegetarian & gluten free meal for us as we couldn’t have anything on the menu. There’s drinks available at the place and a place to have lunch beside the property. We didn’t have a car so it was good for 2 nights. Beautiful location at a quiet beach with a view of the sunset. The pool was great as well, with places to chill and sit and good if you love cooling off without getting salty + a shower (great after the ocean. Big room with a large and comfortable bed.

The beach is picture postcard quality. If you imagine sitting in the shade of a palm tree, watching the waves rolling in and the sun setting in the ocean, while sipping a pina colada, you come close! Also the room we had was very generous and spotless clean. Finally, Heidi gave us some first class mefical care when my wife was stung by a sting ray. Thanks to her she fully recovered within a night's sleep.

This is a great spot right in the beach and with a fantastic pool. The staff were so friendly and helpful, making breakfast each morning and offering more. The home and property were great, and the beach is beautiful.

Fantastic location on a stunning beach with the possibility of walking around the headland to other beaches and viewing sea turtle hatchlings being released on the beach outside. It is isolated - about half an hour from San Juan Del Sur with no shops and only a restaurant opening at weekends nearby- but perfect if you wish to have a relaxing stay away from it all. Our room (king with sea view) was very spacious and comfortable and we appreciated the effort made to decorate it for Valentine's Day when we arrived. Heidi and her team took good care of us cooking breakfast and evening meals on request which were all very tasty.

“A hidden respite outside of the mayhem of San Juan Del Sur”

The road to get to the bed and breakfast was a bit daunting at first, but we realized that it was totally worth it to be out of the mayhem of SJDS, on this GORGEOUS almost deserted beach. The location was so relaxing, and we only went into SJDS a couple of times during our four night stay. The breakfast that was included was well-prepared and the staff accommodated our personal preferences. There were several options for dinner there, and there were a couple of really good little restaurants within a 15 min drive. Having the pool was a plus!

The building was very lovely and the local staff of cleaners and kitchen ladies were amazing.

“Our time at La Veranera was a dream vacation come true.”

This was our first vacation in many years and it felt like we stepped out of our dreams and into reality. No regrets booking La Veranera and spending two indulgent weeks there. We only went to San Juan del Sur or on excursions a handful of times as it was btwn $20-$40 US by taxi each way. There is a local bus you can take for 60 cordobas (about $2 US) that comes at 7:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 5:00 PM which we also took a couple times. Things to do if you stick around Playa del Coco include: - stepping out the door to greet the ocean each morning with a fresh cup of coffee - watching baby turtles get released into the ocean. (We were there in late January and were lucky enough to see this a few times) - playing in the ocean - swimming, surfing, boogie boarding. The waves ranged from negligible to 3 ft. No undertow when we were there. - walking the length of the beach in the cool hours of the evenings - lounging in the shade with a book and jumping in the pool every now and then to cool off - meeting and chatting with the other folks staying at La Veranera. Good vibes. For food, there is a restaurant up the road that delivers but we mostly relied on the fare that our lovely cook/housekeepers Karla, Jessica and Rita made. The pizzas are thin crust and delicious. Also had the pasta and fish.

“The best experience!”

It’s hard to fault this place! We had an amazing stay. The beach location is unmatched, the staff were friendly and helpful (despite the fact we spoke no Spanish & they spoke no English). Highly recommend the king room with sea view, the room and bathroom are huge, and it’s a bonus having your own seating area and hammock overlooking the beach! We love animals and one of the owner’s cats made themselves at home on our laps. We made a strong connection with the abandoned Doberman on the beach, he’s the sweetest soul who just doesn’t seem to belong anywhere which broke our hearts - he was always there to greet us in the morning and would wander along the beach with us, so please don’t judge a book by its cover if you happen to stumble across him during your stay here. We were lucky enough to see turtles nesting on La Flor beach, and turtle hatchlings being released from the small refuge next door to the lodge!

The location is amazing on a gorgeous beach! With so few houses, it is like being on a private beach. Turtles visit the beach and it’s a very short drive to La Flor!

Stunning home located on a quiet, private beach of El Coco, tranquil environment, very relaxing listening to the waves break on shore. The king room was beautiful, lots of room, lovely ensuite with lots of space. Air conditioning worked well. Pool on the property was also very nice. Dinner was cooked perfectly. Access available to the bar for cold beer/pop.

“Hidden gems, totally worth taking the extra time to get there.”

We stayed for the first time at this hotel / Bed&Breakfast but surely will come back. It is very quiet with only a few room which gives you a nice family atmosphere. The staff and the owner were very attentive, great service. We will recommend this place to anybody who is looking for some relaxation on the beach. The beach is spectacular. Next to the hotel is a small turtle station. As Playa El Coco is half an hour drive from San Juan del Sure they offer a dinner service. We decided to take the pizza and it was excellent!!!!!! In the morning you sit on the veranda, look at the ocean, enjoy the natural beauty of this place ....
