“Comfortable stay next to a nice surfing beach”

The hotel was only a 1 minute walk from the surfing beach. The host Erik was a really nice friendly guy and offered us a ride to town for $8. The rooms were nice and clean and the cleaning lady was very sweet! Good price to quality ratio.

“Super affordable and great location”

Property was really close to the beach which was great and the price of it was super affordable, the host was also super friendly. The town itself is smaller than you’d think so it’s ideal to bring your own food to cook, the kitchen was well equipped so we cooked most of our meals here.

Casa maya is in a fantastic location right by the sea. We enjoyed the nice kitchen and the room was clean. Faith was also a brilliant host and very kind to us.

Great location and incredibly lovely, very helpful, accommodating staff. Big, shady roof terrace with breeze and hammocks. Useful info provided about local area and taxis. Well equipped kitchen.

We had a wonderful stay here. After we booked, we were sent a message with lots of information and help for our stay so that we came prepared and new what to expect (Bring food as there are no grocery shops here). The owner Faith is super lovely and welcoming. Good kitchen and clean facilities. We would stay again :)

“Absolutely phenomenal!!!”

What didn’t we like would be the easier question to answer!!! We initially came to Casa Maya for a week, and then decided to come back a couple weeks later for an extended 2 weeks!! As hosts, James and Faith made our experience absolutely exceptional- we can honestly say that Casa Maya was a home away from home, and we easily could’ve stayed for up to if not over a month! Since we are both surfers, there is almost nothing that could’ve made our experience more convenient- casa maya had outdoor showers, places to store boards, and was just a 30 second walk away from the beach, which had good quality board rentals and beachfront bars and restaurants. To top this, El Romanso was easily the BEST beach in SJDS when it comes to both surfing and good vibes- a conclusion we made after renting a car to explore other beaches! To top this, there were much less mosquitos in comparison to other beaches in Central America. Very rarely do you find affordable accommodation at such high quality, which is why we HIGHLY recommend visiting if you are in the area- we would just love to be back!!

the proximity to the beach is super, the accomodation new and very clean ..James and Faith kindness and warm welcome makes your stay perfect. Its a pleasure to talk to them. I definitely would come back again and again.

The hosts just started this hotel, they were open for comments and tips and we're really trying. The rooms were really beautiful and there is great water pressure under the shower. You're so close to the beach that you can be there in 3 min.

“Pleasant”

This location was great if you want to escape the craziness of San Juan Del Sur. There's a nice beach right beside the property which is great if you're learning to surf. The beach is quiet and chilled. Faith and James were lovely hosts. Really nice people and lovely to talk to. It was really quiet too which is what we were looking for.

“OK but”

Nice hotel and nice location

We liked the location of the hostel. Its not on the main beach of San Juan del sur but on a beach thats even more beautiful. Its the perfect place for surf beginner. we liked our room and the shared kitchen had everything you need. we also liked Faith and James as hosts. The communication was very easy and they gave us a lot of information. we can really recommend this hostel and would stay there again.

“Nature, beach, surf, bars and peace. what else?”

Lovely eco-place immersed in the natura, only few meters from beach, surf rental and bars. was amazing to ear all kind of birds, waves crushing and sometimes monkeys in the morning. just loved it. nice shared kitchen and dining tables. big spacious rooms which stay cool without need of AC. we used fan couple of times. private bathroom. James and Faith are doing an amazing job looking after the place and making it very welcoming.
